TOW Why lvl 1 and 2 wizards are sadly quite bad at casting and dispelling spells in The Old World

Made a short explainer video on why taking a low lvl wizard in The Old World is probably a bad idea. What do yall think?

Wouldn't this be better in the Fantasy chat, toggled to TOW? This is currently in the General Hobby Chat thread.

But to answer your question, I wouldn't say it's bad to take one to act as a support for a higher-level Wizard, same as previous Editions. They're much cheaper and there will always be a time when your opponent fluffs a dispel roll and your low-level caster can earn their points back, especially as only Dwarfs can auto-dispel now. The sheer number of spell casts from multiple Wizards together will mean your opponent will be forced to use things like Power and Dispel Scrolls a lot more carefully and vastly increases the chance and regularity of bad dice rolls ruining their day.

Plus, with Wizards now only having a finite dispel range, a Level 1 or 2 Wizard is a cheaper way of adding an extra bubble of dispel coverage across a portion of the battlefield.
