Some new Vampire models: a new sculpt for Cado Ezechair and two accomplices.

Sculpts look okay. The last one makes me want to kitbash a Priest of Sotek somehow :p

Isn't there one specific house of vampires themed around snakes? This isn't the first one to have some.

Nice snakes, but otherwise more vampire garbage. I don't know why it's even getting any attention here.

I like Cado's current model better. The charging vampire looks good, except for the obligatory broken tree hanging out on the side. I don't dislike the snake vampire (and I agree that it would make a good Lizardman/Seraphon kitbash), but it just doesn't have the same "Gothic Vampire" aesthetic. Which is fine. Aside from the 2-headed snake, it looks more like a Idoneth Deepkin model to me. For example, if the snake was a fantasy giant eel or octopus, it would fit right in.

since WHFB, GW has always treated VC as their golden undead boys.

The crypts/mausoleums are nice, but pretty standard looking, which is fine. The article reads like the SBGL faction terrain might be similar to Skaven's; meaning you can set up multiple sites and possibly add or replace them if there isn't enough on the board. The article only reveals that SBGL can summon their endless spells through them, but I'm sure you can also use the terrain as a locus for bringing units out of the grave and resurrecting units.

The terrain is nice I suppose. It's generic enough that you can use it for other things.
Which has actually been one of my greatest dislikes of faction terrain, the things are so unique you can't really re-use them without going pretty heavy on the kitbashing.

The endless spells are whatever. With the way magic works in 4th it's difficult to get excited for any of them.
The hand thing has a nice effect though.

More terrain is never a bad thing! It is always nice to have more options. Of course, I'd rather we were getting Lustrian terrain!

There isn't any actual terrain left for AoS is there? It's all just faction terrain now right? And maybe some warcry terrain. But nothing more than that.
It's weird how little terrain GW actually sells for AoS, especially considering that AoS is much better with terrain.

I think part of the problem is GW's suggestions with regards to board layout, what with their mission packs featuring a relatively low number of "normal" terrain pieces (usually no more than 8). The thing is that, unless you don't care for the mission pack board layouts, you generally won't go out of your way to have more than that bare minimum. That, and GW terrain has a bad habit of being both ludicrously expensive for what you're getting and being very empty in spite of the amount of space they take up (i.e. the Realmshaper Engine).

Even so, 40K also manages to have plenty of terrain and it's not like the mission packs feature more terrain.
The LoTR game also has a lot of terrain, though it's more important there seeing as you command individual models, more similar to warcry/killzone, and not units.
The freaking old world has more "neutral" terrain than AoS.

Like whatever happened with the ruins they had in 2nd edition? Those were fine-ish.

To be honest GW has been pretty terrible with terrain over the past few years - they always seem to keep new terrain kits around for only a few months to a year and then quietly retire it for reasons beyond me. Aside from the TOW terrain GW has really done its best to lose the rep it once had for being one of the big sellers of plastic terrain pieces (and who knows whether they'll keep the TOW terrain going or if they'll retire that again too after a while when nobody's noticing?).

Well, they are trying to compete with cardboard boxes, foam packing and soda cans a good chunk of the time.

The overall problem however is that, unless you're an event organizer, you'll rarely ever do repeat purchases of terrain pieces.

I thought the LoTR terrain did pretty well. Those Rohan houses seem to be pretty popular as far as I can tell. Plenty of "normal"people who post pictures of those.

I personally like faction terrain. That's how we get cool terrain pieces like this:
