Just got it again. Wish it was at least consistent, I can plan around a consistent issue. It randomly deciding that it has been too lenient on how long it gives me and halving that time? That I can not plan around.
The issue is becoming really annoying... now i am not able to post a new thread (the entry thread for the new painting comp.) Update: i'm trying to circumvent the issue, but it's really hard, and i'm obtaining only marginal successes. It's frustrating
...and once it gives you the error on a post... bam, it's deader than dead, you are no more able to edit it. I need to try the "delete" option
The issue really doesn't want me to post on the GW news thread - by the looks of it, it's happening for me when I copy-paste some text from elsewhere as the basis for my post. Though, of course, that's probably not what's causing it to occur for other people's posts...
the problem is... sometimes copy-paste triggers it, sometime don't. Sometime it happens without copy-paste... and so on
Thanks for the feedback, I'll start digging into this today, but it might take a few days to get it sorted. A quick follow-up question: After the 403 error happens, are you able to browse the website normally, just not reply/post to that thread?
Can browse normally and even reply/post on other threads, it just locks me out of replying to the thread where I got the error for however long.
I have managed to locate a log entry on the webserver from today from a 403, but it unfortunately does not explain what is happening, as it just tells it terminated the request. The question is what part of the server system that "decided" to terminate the request. I have tried having an edit open to trigger it on my side, but have so far not been able to duplicate the problem.
After maybe 5 or so attempts to post something in short succession the site can become completely unresponsive, as in, I'll get an error response instead of the site for an hour or so. Not sure if this is just an anti-spam response though. I might be able to reliably reproduce the error, but it might be user-specific. Let me have a go and see what happens...
Ok, so I can recreate the error by trying to post my story to this thread https://www.lustria-online.com/threads/guns-of-sotek.27516/page-6 I started hammering it at around 2:25am British Summer Time. I got blocked by the site at around 2:40am when it started giving me this error in the console: NS_ERROR_UNKNOWN_HOST Far be it from me to 2nd guess you, but I did a bit of googling (duck-duck-going) and it looks like it could be something to do with incorrectly configured moderation tools perhaps? Though it could also be the host too. https://xenforo.com/community/threa...details-may-be-in-the-browser-console.191431/ https://www.litespeedtech.com/support/forum/threads/solved-403-forbidden.6189/ https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lsws/cp/cpanel/403-error/#does-it-occur-with-apache Good luck on your quest. And let me know if you want the actual stuff I was trying to post to give it a go on your end to recreate it.
With the logs I was able to locate, it seems all 403 is connected with HTTP2 which is a protocol the server use to transfer content to the browser. It is a longshot, but I have disabled this protocol so we can test if it is the culprit. If anyone still experiences the problems moving forward, please post an update. With that error it could sound like it's blocked by the firewall system, when you did this test, did you reload the page over and over again, or?
I reloaded between a few posts but I wasn't hammering it. The blocking becomes evident when I hit the send-post button and nothing happens. Refreshing the page after that gets me to the browsers own error page about the page not responding and that error in the console. As I said, it could be a seperate thing. For now, I'll try reposting that story that causes the issue and see what happens. I'll report my findings.
@The Red Devil As of 11:18 BST its still giving a 403. I have been trying to edit and post to this post in particular https://www.lustria-online.com/threads/guns-of-sotek.27516/page-6#post-485705 Its quite a chunky bit of text I am trying to post, in case that helps with narrowing it down.
