Looking forward to tihs Sunday. Our 8th Ed. group is planning a big battle. 8 players, 2000 Pts. each. This is the background we will use. "The City of Malako in the Border Princes is ripe for the taking and many Generals of all types of races have decided it was time to take what they will. An uneasy Alliance of Evil is Marching on the City from the West while the forces of good have decided to take revenge for grievances of the past upon the Lord of Malako and the Human forces that dwell there. Each of you will approach the city and fight street to street the forces hidden inside, capturing the treasures (Points) of each. Battling the opposing group once you reach each other." Forces of Evil: Dark Elves Orc & Goblin Chaos Vampire Counts Forces of Good: Me - Lizard Men Dwarves Empire High Elves
The game was great today! Unfortunately we had 2 players cancel due to the snow we got in Minnesota. So the Evil side lost the Chaos player, and the Good side lost the Dwarf player. We still had 6 of us with 3 for each side. The City of Malako had 11 buildings, each with troops inside, ranging from 1 with 10 militia, to 1 with 25 swordsmen, 1 with 30 halbardiers, 1 with 10 great swords, 1 with 30 great swords and the Lord of Malako, and so on. The game was set to go for 8 turns. We had to assault the buildings to gain control of them, and fight the other teams armies. Some great times were had by all. At the end of turn 8, the Good side had control of 8 of the 11 buildings and when points were totaled, a solid victory for the Forces of Good by 2000 pts. And I am happy to say that my Lizardmen had the highest point total of all six players!!! I controlled 4 of the buildings and scored points for the buildings and destroying enemy units. One fun thing that happened was when my skink priest who rolled Comet of Cassandora for his spell, cast it, it went to strength 5 hits, and when it exploded I rolled an area of effect of 12 inches. It damaged 8 units, unfortunately 3 of them were mine, causing a unit of skinks to flee, and damaging some saurus who were holding a building. It was total carnage and really fun to roll all the damage to all the units, with the orcs & goblins taking some big damage, causing a unit of orcs to flee off the table as they were near the table edge.
