Thanks all! I may grab a unit of the rapiers for some conversion bits, but beyond that the only others I have my eyes on right now are the new box of breachers coming out (soon?). The saturnine do look cool but they don’t fit the force I am working on too well… I have a bunch more of these guys to currently paint though, including some dreadnoughts and tanks, as well as two knights to put together. In the mean time though I have been distracted by converting up techmarines!!
Had fun messing around with filters/adjustments to these photos to make a nice rad-desert look! After basing these breachers I finally sat down and finished this land raider. Turns out this is the first land raider I have built and painted in all the years I have been painting space marines... amazing! Someday I need to go back and make some land raider crusaders for my templars The heraldry on this thing was a bit rushed, but I am happy and calling it complete. Spoiler: moar pics And a true-color pic, they look a lot more like true-Iron Hands in the filtered photos!
Thanks @Killer Angel and @JTSleep! I put this characterful crew together last weekend: Inspired by this classic artwork: I also made the rest of the squad: Plan is to still paint these guys as the rest of my Harbingers, but instead of white helmets they will get helmet stripes.
This month+ has been about Haqqislam and Heresy minipainting in the Warden household. Starting with the Haqqislam... Hassassin Shujae: Very dune-inspired paintjob for this guy, love how he turned out. Originally I didn't like the mini, I think because of the official paintjob I didn't like the green cloak. Glad I painted mine tan. Spoiler: Shujae Ghazi Muttawi'ah: These four turned out fantastic! And unlike the rest of the minis in this post I have used them in almost every Haqqislam list I have played over the last few months. They are very cheap but effective skirmishers, especially when they are equipped with jammers! Can you tell which one has the sunglasses that I sculpted on?! Sunduqbut: One of my favorite minis in the entire Haqqislam range, the crate-bot either spectacularly blasts away enemy TAGs in a single surprise ambush during games or dies immediately due to return fire! Now that I finished this guy I have two of them to use in games ...and lastly, the Maghariba Guard(s)!! The largest model in the faction and all of Infinity, these big ladies are pretty awesome TAGs that take up a ton of board space and have been fun to use solo or together! I am glad I magnetized the tail guns so they can turn 360 just like the rules allow them to fire in game. <//the spice must flow//>
...and after a crazy Saturday of work and an entirely snowy weekend, here are some of the Heresy techmarines I have painted this month Brother Retrovius: Spoiler He has a nice robotic arm made from a sacrificed Necron limb. Praevian Galach: Armistos Haderact with either his lascannon or heavy bolter options: Techmarine Ibraxim: Spoiler and Techmarine Sin Ohmed, who is doing some vehicle salvage: Spoiler
Nice work on expanding the army Those Techmarines seem to be compensating for something Grrr, !mrahil
Yeah the giant servo-arms were WAAAAY bigger than I expected when I bought them... but its what I had! ...speaking of overcompensating, here is a tank with a really big gun! This tank started life as a Deathwatch tank that I never finished because I didn't want to do the edge highlighting. Glad this color scheme doesn't need it! The Vindicator can swap out its demolisher cannon for a laser destroyer array: Enjoyed painting the gunner. I originally built him a bit different, but swapped out his helmet and converted his helmet to make it look like a visor. Spoiler: more Vindicator bits Named the Vindicator the "Twice Forged" because this time I actually painted it! One more parting action-shot before the tank hits the road!
Thanks @- Q - ! The display stand is coming along: Spoiler: exhaustive step-by-step Traced out on some leftover colored paper- Brother Skully has been added to the display board: Plenty of sand- Some more shots-
That is coming along very nicely. The fallen corpse is a really nice touch. Adds a bunch of character.
