My understanding is that Crow's Nests are sub-sections, and any spill-over is permitted to go to the section that the Crow's Nest in question is attached to. So, for if you want to put men on the Crow's Nest and the nest in question is on the mast for the main deck, you can fill the four spaces allowed, and any others in the unit go to the main deck. Might be mistaken on that front though; not had a chance to ask the local expert - and he's hardly an expert, just the first local to really try to memorise the rules.

Thus my joke about the undermanned galleon. XD

Bought a plastic Chaos Chariot a couple of days ago as an early Christmas present to Beast-ify.

On one hand you bought a WoC kit but on the other you plan to desecrate it for the Beastmen. Hmmm. I will choose to take this as a victory since it will signify to GW to produce more WoC stuff.

WoC are one of the ranges that GeeDubs are least likely to stop producing more of. Chaos is like... their number two iconic faction. Number two that is actually iconic, not number two of what they WANT to be iconic *cough*Sigmarines!*cough*.

...Though I'm a little behind on what is actually their number one... Fantasy-wise at least. In all of their ranges, SPESS MAHRINES is obviously it... but I'm focusing on the Fantasy half of the ranges.

As much as I don't care for them, it's probably the SCE.

You think so? Sure, I've seen people liking then more since they upgraded to Lightning Strike armour or whatever it's called, since the slimmer profile stopped feeling quite so "fantasy Spess Mahrine", but I didn't think they'd actually achieved GeeDubs' goal of becoming a popular face to Age of Sigmar.

Honestly, the only SCE I bought was to convert as a paladin in D&D. I've no interest in them as an army. Though thinking back... I think it was actually an anti-paladin... Might need to see if he still exists in storage somewhere

I'm guessing based on anecdotal evidence; nothing concrete. Heard it spoken by a couple of Youtubers a while back that SCE fantasy content garners more views than other fantasy content. They also mentioned google search rates were higher for SCE, nothing like Warhammer 40k and Space Marines, but in comparison to other fantasy. Whether or not the information being presented was accurate or not is anybody's guess. I didn't verify it, so I can't be sure.

They're fun for conversions. I bought one to turn into a Herald on Blood Throne using spare parts left over from making my Skull Cannon, plus a plastic juggernaut I scored for a decent price on ebay. :)

Orcs and Goblins. They've been around longer than any other warhammer faction I think.

Fixed that for you :D. Once I've finished with it it'll be another fine addition to my conversion portfolio, alongside my Jabberslythe.

It was a choice between an Ironblaster/Scraplauncher and the Chaos Chariot as the basis for a Razorgor Chariot conversion (GW aren't exactly helping by not producing a bespoke model for it :shifty:) and as my FLGS still hadn't ordered an Ironblaster in, I chose the only available option to support them more than anything.

Pff, my solitary purchase is a drop in the ocean compared to the avalanche of stuff die-hard WoC fanboys buy. Thank your lucky stars that a lot of people share your taste in that department, for reasons beyond me ;)

I, of course, stand above those masses .

Much like I use Beastmen skulls to decorate the bases of my WoC! ;)

Who knows, yours might be the deciding "vote".

Either way my army is pretty well finished (in terms of models... definitely not in terms of painting).

Hobbywise? It is the holidays. I got nothing for Christmas except an extra day off from work. Sounds bad, but really I am okay with this. Honestly, an extra day off with PAY? That's what I wanted for ... ANY day, really. :meh: Adulting kind of sucks.

Also bought myself some old hobgoblin cavalry figures from the classic Chaos Dwarf army, and some gnoll miniatures for my horde though, so not all bad? :shamefullyembarrased:

Oh, and I expanded my beach:

Aha yes, plenty of Beastmen skulls in there... alongside some Daemon ones ready for when your Warriors have proven themselves against the Dark Gods' foremost playthings servants. And heaps of weak manling ones too... as one thing the Beastmen and Warriors of Chaos can agree on is that the Empire principally exists to be stomped on :D.

My own Christmas reinforcements are rather more alive... IMG_20251228_183146.jpg

Some of the new Kill Team Beastmen - just like their Warhammer Fantasy cousins they wear very little armour or technology, so it shall be easy to Fantasy-ify them with the most appropriate build choices and spare weapons from my bespoke Beasty Box of bitz.

Between these and another box I received last Christmas, I have a good-sized Gor unit full of the new more dynamic poses :D
