I did it. I took the money and just went bananas.
Almost no modeling time, but I couldn't lurk around it much longer with black fridays everywhere.


There are Enforcers (kinda Marines) and Plague (kinda Nurgle) forces in the box.

Friend is also currently printing Forge Fathers (kinda Votann) faction for me as well.

 

Ooh!

Love Mantic's Enforcers. Very Ironman as an elite commando army. Much more openly hi-tech compared to the usual suspects.

Also the Forge Fathers are so dedicated to their beards that they actually designed their tanks to have beards, and this amuses me.

I look forward to seeing your epic army come together.

 

Epic Warpath is certainly one of the better-looking Epic-Scale games out there right now (alongside Armoured Clash ), and is certainly the closest thing we'll get to Epic 40K proper (yes, with Xenos races in too Legions Imperialis) coming back. I do hope they eventually release smaller sets with fewer sprues in them, though, as having to buy at minimum a £70 set to get started is Mantic getting a bit big for their boots to be honest.

In any case, have fun with it! Between me getting into Armoured Clash and you getting into Epic Warpath, we can flood the forum with pics of 10mm models

 

I must confess, that I don´t like Enforcers that much. They have cool hover tanks, but I am considering selling that part of starter and keeping Plague and Forge Fathers as only two forces. Main reason to buy starter was:
1. It has rulebook, tokens and command dice
2. I made print beds with Plague faction and since friend have small display, it would take 6 beds to get what is here and cost about 2/3 of plastic models.
3. Whole starter cost me 120 euro in black friday, lone faction box is 90 euro without sale.

Also, what is Dwarf without his beard? Basically just a gnome in heavy armour

Since sprues contain portion of everything, I highly doubt that, maybe if they put 3 sprues (instead of 6) and call it army booster...

Say, we make a deal. You continue actively posting Armoured Clash, I start working on my Epic Warpath right away. I really like those steampunk-dieselpunk world of Armoured Clash.

 

I certainly will continue posting my adventures into the Dystopian Age, you can be certain of that. Glad to hear you like the setting, it's certainly another Epic-Scale game worth exploring if you're up for it .

But yes, you focus on exploring Epic Warpath for now in the same way. Good to hear you prefer Plague and Forge Fathers to the Enforcers - as a Xenos man, Enforcers are probably the least interesting to me alongside GCPS, while Enforcers and Plague are among my favourites alongside Asterians and Veer-Myn. Look forward to seeing your Dwarven host muster to repel the vile alien Plague!

 

Only reason I didn't order printed Veer-myn is that they don't have STL yet.

 

I snipped and snipped in last two days. These on pictures are 3 sprues (of 6) of plague faction.


I found out that there are 3 units that need all 6 sprues to completion. HMG, Bursters and Leapers. All of those are single base per sprue and unit of each is 6 bases.

Edit: I rewrote most of the post, because I apparently can't count in the morning.

 

Modeler's club today! Shorter than usual, because I left to pick up prints. But I managed to almost finish next part of my Trench crusade (only base rims left) and assembled and glued first half of Plague Epic Warpath to bases.


Afterwards, when kiddo fell asleep, I cured Forge Fathers.


It will be fun to sort them out as those are 4 different infantry units.

Now, I have to figure out if I want to paint this lot and then come back and make rest, or make whole army and paint it afterwards.

Edit: I noticed that I mentioned this is about half. After recalculation, this is roughly third of all minis.

 

Second third of those little buggers assembled.


I also made printbed with reinforcement tanks and other odds and ends.

 

Base rims are finally done. Next four minis for Trench Crusade are finished.

Went to modeler's club today. A bit more is glued and based.


Right now, I am missing 2 units of basic infantry (each 6 bases), 3 mules (those buggies) and some 3D prints that are not complete because of failures. But there will be unit of 3 hulking beasts (similar to those walkers) and 2 units of tanks (3 in each).

Also, there should be either 2 or 4 models on each base. After I took a look at this amount of models, I decided that I might be a masochist, but I am not that hardcore, so some units only have 3 instead of 4 models per base.

 

Darn it. I was looking for epic warpath paint schemes when google ad appeared. One shop in my country mispriced starter and is selling them for 50 euro... Now I have no idea what to do with three of them

 

First small portion of minis painted. I wanted to test out paintscheme, so I took infantry base, bigger models unit and vehicle unit.
Painting felt good, I had concerns about the smallest scale I've ever painted, but most of each mini was done by my workhorse brush and I needed detail brush only for canopy on mechs and metal highlights.

Another Epic Warpath unit is done. This time Stage 3 Ghouls. I am not a fan of same 4 models over and over, but at least it was faster to paint them. I also couldn't find what those blue shoulder thingies are, but they are blue on all models, so who am I to oppose
