This is... kind of... the reason I don't own a gun that isn't on a wargaming miniature. Not because I am an idiot with one, but because I know I cannot hit the broad side of a barn if I held the barrel up to the wall, so it is not safe for me to have one. Rights is knowing you can own one. Wisdom is knowing when you shoudn't.
Which puts you ahead of so, so many people. I don't hunt as I have no interest in it. If, like many relatives in Maine, I had to for food to survive would I? Yes but not for sport or trophy hunting. Other people do as they will but it doesn't interest me. I've trained some of my younger relatives and the ones who aren't safe, serious or interested are told they don't have to and for the unsafe they are told they can't unless they change. My eldest son has no interest and that's fine. I'm not safe with high speed cars so guess what I don't own.
