Want to talk about Spy X Family (or post memes)

I understand that Spy X Family is built on "Slice of Life" first and "Intrigue" second, but I wish the intrigue plots advanced a bit faster.

That's my main legitimate criticism of this show.

I cannot say you're wrong.

Spy X Family is my second favorite anime after Frieren. And Frieren recently concluded it's second (short) season, and it occurred to me that Frieren's plot is progressing faster than Spy X Family when a defining trait of Frieren the elf is that she is never in a hurry to do anything and thinks nothing of spending six months looking for a flower.

Honestly I'm torn. On the one hand I want to see the main story progress a bit more quickly, on the other I really don't want them to rush it and ruin what they are setting up. That being said there was a comic book from decades ago called Poison Elves that was slowly building up to an epic story. It was one of my favorite books and it was nicely draw as well. Sadly the author Drew Hayes passed away before finishing it and there never was a passing of the Torch. I don't want that to happen here.

Season 4 of Spy X Family was not officially announced but the show isn't cancelled either.

This ambiguity is all too common with anime. There is a big event with the creators and the voice cast in Japan scheduled for November. It is widely speculated that they will make a season 4 announcement then.

i'm not following it anymore, but at least Berserk was not stopped after Miura's death...
