Hey, new to the forum but old school lizzie player. I've just finished up quite a few Cold One Knights (8 new models and 7 converted OOP '95 ed. Cold Ones from the old Skink Cold One Riders, anybody remember those?) but can't decide how to field them.

Is it best to keep them all in one big unit of 15? Or split them into 3 roving packs of 5 models? I wanted to keep a second rank on one block so that I can negate rank if I get a flank charge off so maybe running a group of 10 w/Scar-Vet and a supporting unit of 5 is best? I'm at a loss.

The rest of my army is fairly standard; Slann w/TG, blocks of saurus, Skrox, a few Sallies, some terradons if I think there'll be a war machine and a steg. I thought the Cold Ones could break up the monotony a bit so I wanted to do something interesting with them!

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

I have had prety good luck runing units of 5 or 6 with a mounted scar-vet.

I actually don't use the CoK's in any of the larger games but at around 1000-1500 points I like to use a unit of 5 to take care of skirmishers or for an added flank charge somewhere. They are pretty effective in smaller games.

TJoe is pretty accurate. Lizzie dynamics alter a LITTLE from Druchii play, but not much.

Being Cav is a minus. The Swiftstride is a plus. The Ld difference is negligible based on the 3rd die principle. A block of 8 -15 FC/ with something to boost Initiative is optimal. MSU is difficult at best, but that actually may be wildly different with COC instead of COK.

Personally, I want to see the old school Horned Ones back in action as a UNIT, not just a Hero buy (from the way it looks in my wife's book).

The ASF blessing may rock on 2 blocks of 8 and 7 would be my highest probable calculation.
