If you get a miscast whilst sending a spell through a skink priest who suffers the miscast? Recent game this happened, I said the slann suffers but my mate reconed it should be the skink - odd for the argument to go that way but the slann makes more sense to me as he is the one actually casting.
The rules just say that the spell is cast "as though the mage-priest were in the position of the skink". This leads me to believe that it would be the slann who takes the miscast and not the skink. I'm too lazy t check the FAQ though, but I'm pretty sure they just changed the name of the ability to no longer be called channeling.
The FAQ only changed the wording to "vassal" instead of channeling to remove the confusion with channeling attempts to get more PD/DD. The codex rules are still in place and clearly state that "Any miscasts affect the Slaan as normal."
I though it was the slann that took the miscast but, if he counts as being where the skink is, do the results that use a template or base contact use the slann or the skink as the origin of the effects?
Still the Slann. It is cast as if he is where the skink is, but thats it. Miscasts are back where the Slann is.
