I recently played a game against a friends O&G army (who ive not beaten before) and beat him by the end of turn 3 (he gave up he'd killed 200 points of mine and I'd killed 2000 of his) But my problem with this is that i tried a random unit a friend had mentioned just for fun. It worked really well and was wondering if its worth using more or if it was a fluke. my list was Slann, cupped hands, BSB, Lore of Light, lore master 10 temple guard, standard and musician Scar Vet, cold one, biting blade, dawnstone, charmed shield Skink chief, ancient steg, warspear (the random unit) Saurus x40, full command saurus x 22, full command saurus x 21, full command skink skirms x 10 skink skirms x 10 salamander salamander What do you think to the list in general? and the usefulness of the 40 lizard unit?
Well, there are plenty of observations on the whole '40 man' units and all of the 'horde' rules and stuff over in the tactics section. Basically, saurus are an expensive soldier to put into that big of a unit, but 10-wide with spears, it can deal a lot of damage. If it works for you then keep on going with it And everything can be a fluke. It could be a fluke that you'd never beaten him before You can make almost anything work in this game as long as you have the imagination to do it! (and a little experience of how it will work mind you ) I've always liked the idea of huge blocks of saurus as I am definitely a more combat-oriented Lizardmen player than most so I say you should stick with it and see how well you can make it work for you
the 10 man model unit of temple guard is cos I only own 10 temple guard(although i could proxy) and its never been a problem (i need to buy more). thanks for the input i will check the other forum
jaja I guess I'm so used to not running a Slann (and therefore not running Temple Guard) that I didn't even notice they were only ten Well, you could proxy some but if its been working then I don't see why you would need to change it
