Hey all, I'm going to be playing against a friend of mine who is running Warriors of Chaos-Tzeentch.

Going over their Codex and abilities I thought I might have a bit of concern. Does anyone have experience with dealing with Magic Heavy Chaos guys?

Obviously a Slann is key in dominating magic. But anyone else have any ideas or tips?

Becalming Cognition is a good one for sure. Get within 24 on his big casters and you should be fine.

Don't forget to dispel remains in play spells of his (pandemonium for one if I remeber correctly)

Bring a cube of darkness and save it to shut down a big dice phase for him once combat is joined

The problem with Cogitation is that most Chaos casters are often on top of Discs, which makes it fairly easy to just move out of the 24" range of the Slann and then blast away, so don't rely too heavily on it. Cube is great tho. A standard party Slann with a skink cubecaddy should go a long way.

Normal mage hunters won't really work since even the mages of Chaos are armoured to the teeth. Most chaos players I meet likes to chuck a ton of dice on Gate, so Feedback Scroll + Banehead can potentially 1-shot that nasty level 4 caster.

    Hello,
Yup, Banehead+feedback scroll is very good againts most stupid things, including a disc sorc lord. And his main sorc will have the infernal puppet, so cupped hands are't that usefull, so you can use the feedback scroll without hesatation:)

Re. Becalming: Having your enemy wizard move out of 24" range of your slann also tends to move him 24" from the centre of action where he will be of less effect.

Those same disc lords usually have a 3++ ward save, so you're spending a lot of points on a combo that might get a wound through at best. My best friend has been running a WoC army with all the nasty bells and whistles for a couple of years now and I find the best tactic is to ignore the disc sorc lord and focus on breaking his units. I run my Slann with Light, so at most I'll toss on a Net and try to hit him with becalming if he gets too close.

Also watch out for Third Eye, nothing worse than having your own Dwellers turned against you.

Yeah I was going through my friend's Warriors book. Some of that stuff was Rather Nasty, I'm slowly churning out concepts for my Army.
