Hey Everyone. I recently started Warhammer and have finished pairing just about all of my 1000 point army. Was just wondering about Basing now. I know you can slap some glue on the base and dip it in whatever you like, but I was thinking of some kind of Lizardmen Bases... Maybe some glyphs or jungle or something. My question is if anyone has some techniques or examples of Lizardmen/Jungle bases.
No examples yet as I'm only starting with Lizards. There are plenty of leaves and clump foliage available if that's what you want. Antenociti's Workshop has a great selection, though som of it can be a bit expensive. Link to leaves. Ruins can be achieved in many ways. Chipped stone can be easily and cheaply made with stone plaster (the strong kind of plaster) or cut from styrofoam. I'm undecided myself, might go for some mould from Hirst Arts and do plaster or try to carve styrofoam.
So far I've been throwing down the brown Dirt/Gravel, then squirting on more glue after and then doing Flock. Looks nice. I also find small rocks, and branches. I have some plants around here that look good dried out so I turn them into ferns.
Base-x-of-war have some great Lizardmen scenic bases, mostly using ruined glyphs. I've been using a few for heroes and whatnot, then just basing the rest in a similar colour scheme as if they are marching over flagstones of a ruined temple. http://www.base-x-of-war.com/html/jungle_bases.html
