April Painting Challenge - 200+ points

Quick Rule summary if you didn't catch the earlier thread:
1) Paint at least 200 points of models from the one army.
2) Those 200 points can be made up of ANYTHING within the army book - units, monsters, conversions, heroes etc all are valid and welcome.
3) That's it!

Note: This is not a contest, there will be no voting for winners etc, it's just a spur to get you painting! Please feel free to comment and/or offer some constructive criticism.

Time to get started on my WoC BSB I guess.

It will be interesting to see how much interest there is in this challenge series, could be worth keeping up every month or every couple of months.

 

I will paint my first Saurus unit. 30 models.

 

I was planning on doing some goblins. I will never reach the required 65 or so goblins though

 

I'm working on High Elves right now trying to get a unit so LSG done.
And possibly I'll take some of my Lizardmen models, dip em in army painter (tried washes, f'in hate em) and try hardcoating them. I'm scared as hell to ruin them so maybe I'll try one and post here to get some suggestions.

 

i'm not too good on O&G, but can you buff them up with armour/weapons etc? That'll bring their value up. What about doing a Lord or Hero for a quick points boost as well.

 

100% up for it, doing 9 goblins, 3 fanatics and 1 Goblin Shaman...well I'm gonna see. If I feel this is being a bit unhonest with the whole 200points I think I've got some isle of blood skaven that I can do up. Lacking unpainted Lizards at the moment...wow never thought I'd say that

 

I think this happens to everyone, I've been staring at my slann for about 2 months now, it's got the first coat on but I'm terrified about putting any more on it. I'm just gonna have to man up and do it!

Got started on my Tyranids this week, shouldn't be too hard to get 200pts from here, painted 1 Zoanthrope yesterday and am about half way through painting a Carnifex and 6 Genestealers. They're not painted brilliantly, just table top quality, and I doubt I'll have a chance to paint their bases, I still haven't decided how to do their bases.

 

Working on 3 salamanders. Already finished one sally

 

I'm almost done actually. Had a few free days from work so managed to work on the Carnifex some more, just needs a final highlight on the armour plates and weapons and he'll be done. The Genestealers are only a few hours off finished as well.

Though none of it's gonna be based unfortunately, that'd require me thinking up how I want them based. Maybe when they're done I'll post them and you guys can help me decide on a base

 

I got 5 Orks done over the Easter break, and made about 50% progress on another 5. Still on track so far....

 

My Slann's palanquin is done I reckon, though I may do some more work on the big spikes. We'll see how it looks with the Slann on there. How best to paint an albino toad...

 

Is it too late to recant, and go with a dino-party of stegadon and salamander?

 

haha no not at all - i'm thinking of recanting myself - or going with a more elite force (20 Boyz in 30 days, what was I thinking?) The Steg will get you over the 200pts though, no need for the Sally.

 

My Tyranids are pretty much done, just need to touch up some details and finish off their bases. I still can't decide how to do their bases though, lol.

Oddly enough I'm inadvertently not far off 200pts of Necrons for the month as well.

 

Damn man, that's industrious. I'm trying to figure out how many *days it will take me if I highlight each scale on the stegadon. ...
