I like the Saurus coming out of the spawning pool, that's a very clever idea! The Skink handing out shields is a nice touch. Your painting, is as usual, fantastic, keep up the good work! (And more piccies please!)
Really great dynamic diorama with the saurus. Your painting and coloiurs are brilliant! Makes me want to get busy and paint your chameleons are well done, too.
Thanks for the replies guys! Especially on the Spawning Pool - it's really nice to know it's appreciated. Yesterday after my post I suddenly remembered, that I haven't shown you my Kroxigors (which was actually that unit I finished first after my last reply) - so here it goes, with conversions and all first.... And after my paint job.... I really tried to make them look like a unit - the champion is very skinny compared to the old models, so I gave him some extra height by placing his foot on a piece of ruin. I think it turned out pretty good, and more important: special. Let me know, what you think of them! /Kirkegaard
I think you have ruined saurus for me... That unit with the spawning pool is easily the most amazing unit of saurus I have seen. Really great concept, fantastically well executed and painted, very nice attention to detail. The end result looks spectacular, very nicely themed unit. You should indeed be very proud of it!
More than anything I like your skink preist's helmet. Did you make that? It's really cool. How do you form your scales so neat and clean? form them before you stick them on or after? Also I was wondering about your water effect. Did you just use a gloss varnish or something else? I have a somewhat similiar idea I am planing for my temple gaurd/slann mage. I'm just waiting on Rikard's newest creation. I'm looking to gather as much information about creating water effects as possible before I try if for myself. It's pretty complex for me.
As it has been said, the spawning pool is ridiculously cool! Love the details, like the water drops, waterlilies and especially the little skink handing out the shields. Are you going to use it as a unit filler? Also, great job on the Krox, I really like how you made their head look like Tyrannosaurus'! It seems your painting skills have greatly increased between the first set of pictures and the spawning pool, and they weren't anything to frown at in the beginning. Keep up the good work and love to see more pictures!
Very impressive lizards there! All your paint is lovely, and you obviously are pretty good with greenstuff too! Amazing spawning pool unit, the extra details you have added make it the best version of that I have seen. Really love all the work you've done!
Your painting techniques are fantastic and I love the little conversion work you have done here and there and the bases complement the models nicely. I'm with everyone else on that spawning pool. It is ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC! Great attention to detail, great painting job and I love the bucket of spears and the skink handing out shields. Amazing work. Well done. Overall, you have a great looking army.
Thanks for all the nice words, guys. It's truly amazing when you've put so many thoughts and alot of energy into the different project - especially the Spawning Pool Ye, I've made the helmet my self. The sides are two jaws from the templeguard sprue, and the skull (top) are greenstuff. Unfortunatly I haven't got any pictures of it before the undercoat I stick a small chunk of GS on the model where I want the scale to be, and then form it. With patience and time it's not that difficult And the water effect is first a thinned layer of PVA glue and then a layer of clear varnsih. This method worked for me. Only thing to comment on is the dry time - it is awfully long but nothing a hair dryer can't improve. Hope the answers were okay - and sorry about it taking so long! And now for an update..... I've been working on my Ancient Stegadon. I wanted it to stand out a little, which is not very easy with a model of that size. So I've added alot of small details like skulls, chains and other jewellery - and the most cool part is the two plates (gold) that are hammered into it's skin. You get the pictures here: And some pictures where the base is painted: Personally I think the snake is an awesome detail! It's all like "raaaaaaaw" exactly like the Dino. Hope you like it out there! /Kirkegaard
agreed. nice work on the branding on his legs. Looks like you definitely put some love into painting that snake. He looks great!
I've been working on my Stegadon for the last couple of days, and now it looks like this... First, the Howdah is done. And then, the Stegadon with the Howdah: The scales are done, but the skin still needs alot of high lights. /Kirkegaard
Awesome work you have there, keep up the good work especially on the detail. I love the spawning pool by the way!
Looks awesome already. Those gemstones are confusing me: how did you do them? Did you put varnish on them?
Very impressive bling, the gems and gold are lovely. I'm digging the white marble howdah too, very luxurious! Definitely showing off your paint skills! Oh and I like your skulls too. Whats your recipe for those?
Wow! That looks great. The deep greens are set off by the deep red of the stegadon. I also like the work on the ivory glyphs on the piece on the top.
Quick update with status on my Stegadon Only thing missing is the Skink crew! Weird to be done soon though..... /Kirkegaard
