k, I'll bite. There are tons of obvious parlallels beteen WHF and WH40K armies but what 40 k army is most like Lizardmen? Tyranids because they are monstrous? Sisters of Battle because they have powerful short range shooting? Is there anything with even remotely similar fluff?
I tried to look that up myself and the tau have mercenaries that are lizardmen and humanity bombed the crap out of em during the great crusade. It makes me mad cuz they even have skaven as hrud!
I collect both Lizardmen cause I like dinos and Tyranids because they look sweet. In terms of how the model range, hmmm... They got the Ymargl Genestealers, which are like Saurus scouts, and regular Genestealers for Saurus. Warriors which are like Kroxigors with cannons. And then all the masses of Gaunts which are like Skinks. Carnifex, Trygon, Mawloc, could be comparable to the Steg and Carnosaur. Rippers are the jungle swarms. Zoanthrope is their Slann. Hive Tyrant is an Oldblood on a Carnosaur w/a wizarding hat?? But in play the Tyranids are more focused on bringing enough cannon fodder to be able to get within assault range, attacking in waves to stop the hail of bullets from hitting their monsters. Very much offensive. I don't really see LM being played like that. I mean, yeah, you throw Skinks under the bus sometimes, but not EVERY time. I actually care about my little lizards, unlike Termagants. I'll gladly put a couple units of those little buggers in harms way. Fluff-wise I always thought they were closest to Tau with their societal castes and the way they work with each other for the betterment of their race. They are supposedly a young race though, so that's not very parallel. The Kroot look more like them than anything though.
Lol the tyranids are like a failed experiment by the ols ones when they tried to remake lizardmen and they went crazy! Cuz dont most lizardmen need a slann to keep them focused andbfrom like going crazy like in the dragon isles in fantasy? So likw when the tyranids link is lost its like how lizardmen react when they loose their slann

Neither culture really leaves much room in the way of improving yourself or raising your status in the society. So that is a pretty adept answer fluff wise. They don't have much in common tactically or anything... but fluffiness factor is a 9.5
But the tau accept anyone no matter what while the lizardmen isolate themselves witch if they joined the allience in fantasy that would be aweeeeeeesooooommmmmmeeee. Lol and does anyone watch blue table painting?
