Title says it all. Incidentally, that's because that's how many points you have left over after a Life Slann with Focused Rumination and Mystery, in a 2,500 point game.

    My best build so far:

Saurus Oldblood w/ Cold One, The Other Trickster's Shard, Armor of Destiny, Dawnstone, Great Weapon for 277

    Ideas?

i know people shot thi one down before but he has yet to die in a battle (15 battles so far)

    oldblood
    hide of the cold ones
    talisman of pres
    warroir bane
    shield

thats 251 points. for t6 1+a 4+w 5 s5 attacks any wounds reduces the attacks of the character/monster hes fighting.

the only thing that came close to killing it in testing was a strigoi with giant blade and other stuff.

Very interesting build. Do you put him in a saurus unit? Or temple guard? How does your list look like at 2400 or 2500 points?

    Old blood
    -Charmed Shield
    -Talisman of preservation
    -Pirana Blade
    -The other tricksters shard
    -Cold One

1+/4++, charmed shield save for cannonballs. Point in the direction of something nasty and pirana blade and tricksters shard should cut through most things.

    Oldblood
    Cold One
    Crown of Command
    Sword of Striking
    Glittering Scales
    Dawnstone

275 pts. Against ~80% of troops, he hits stuff on a 2+, gets hit on a 5+, wounded on a 6+, gets to reroll his 1+ armor save AND he's stubborn. And if you have a BSB nearby... whoa baby. I think he's as good as the incorporeal+stubborn Slann. :smug:

All great ideas, thanks! Dan- I love that, basically unkillable and very hitty. I might go with this one. Qupakoco- I'm not sure the -1 to hit and stubborn is worth giving up the 4+ ward save, since I've never had problems with Lizardmen fleeing, but I'm open to being convinced.

With Qupakoo's build, you have the option to charge out of a unit and take on enemy units solo. This can be effective to hold up a horde of relatively weak troops - they would have a hard time wounding the Old Blood but could break him with static combat resolution. The stubborn crown prevents this.

Yeah, the Crown is very handy. I've had this guy flanked on both sides by Rank and File and he never lost a wound. Solid tarpit.

From Scalenex's other post I see that my build is actually illegal since the Sword of Striking is 25 pts in our book. My bad. But the defensive gear is still good. Just give him a Great Weapon, Halberd, or Poison instead.
