Hey guys! this is my first (non into) post on here, and it is to show off what ive done so far with my lizards! im not much of a gamer (yet) so the models ive been building up and converting and just for fun, though this will more than likely change pretty soon! but anyway, so far i have built/converted an old Carnosaur model (still being used as a Carnosaur but with a cooler look IMO) 3 Troglodons (2 of which are Arachnarok models with skink riders) and a Bastiladon! =] i really love working on OTT bases, making them fun to look at or fun to play against i guess! =] =] anyway lets get down to photos so far! Its not much ATM but as the days go on i will post more photos! also more painting will be done very soon for infantry and Cavelry! hope you like so far! =]
Those are great! I like how that spider will just look natural over all that terrain. Great work. The Carnosaur looks great too!
cheers guys! ive been working on a few things tonight! 1st off i have been working on my "cold ones" bases! now what ive done is scrap cold one models as i really do not like the models for them so i am now using the cobra snake statues from the Tomb Kings and adding skinks onto the base like beast masters... so each model will represent 4 cold ones, so on the base i have included ruins with dice holders in them so as i can keep track of how many are still alive and what not!! and next i have been working on my Kroxigor Conversion (stand ins for now until i can buy/convert better models) im using the other bodies from the tomb kings kit, and have greenstuffed the back and will be bulking up the arms/hands and changing the weapons to something simila to the GW kroxigor kit! but there is a twist... although they are meant to be crocodile type reptiles, i am going to be doing them like snakes! (no photos of the tails yet) i know this doesnt really fit into the fluff and such, but i reckon if i do the scales and such right, it could look pretty awesome! =] =] i know its not much atm, but i will have more updates tomorrow night! =] =]
Because Reddevil didn't fix them this time... Go back and edit your post, highlight each link seperately and click on the [pic] button to add the image tags. then re-submit it.
okay thats the photos working now! so yeah, i have Alot of work still to go with the Kroxigors! the arms will be bulked out and there will be no more Tomb King glyphs or amarking lefts by the time ive finished with the files ... and the snake like tails are in the process as i type, (damn green stuff taking hours to dry!) im pretty happy with how they are turning out though, and i said before these guys will just be proxy models until i can either afford to buy the real models or until i get better at sculpting and can actually sculpt legs and feet! also on the table today is the Cold one stand ins, so far the bodies are built, but once again i will be filing away all the tomb king stuff and sculpting scales and cobra heads to each of them! these models alone will take me days to do, though its going to worth every second once finished i reckon! =] if anyone has any crazy conversion ideas or tips or anything else please let me know! im going for a fully converted army (minus ground troops) and would love to hear everyones ideas! more pics will be up later tonight of what i have done today! =] =]
You paint look good, conversions very creative, green stuf skills decent, (noticed on the pillars) But I think you could improve your modeling skills by cleaning up the seams and flash before you go on to painting. your stuff would be way more awesome then. http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l198/nbundick/100_7690.jpg (cleaned up pillars)
i agree with the pillars, though im not entirely sure how to clean up big slits like that! would i just use liquid green stuff to cover the gaps? thats one problem ive always had sadly! though due to the non painted pillars being incomplete i can fix them and make them look a lot nicer! =] as for my green stuff skills! i have a lot to work on! ive only just started using it properly so i know i need more time to improve, though so far i am pretty happy with what ive done, Even if it isnt the best haha! though thank you very much for your input and compliments! =] =]
oh I guess I forgot to say, yea on my pilars I mostly just glued them up as best as I could, then I did a lot of carving and fileing, and the patched the rest with green stuff.
ah nice one! cheers! yeah i glued the best i could and it still has huge gaps lol! liquid green stuff it is! =] =]
ive done a few small things to the cold ones now, the kroxigor snakes are getting there also, and i have also started converting 4 skint priests! hopefully you will like what ive been doing! they are not the greatest of photos!! (im only using my iphone so its difficult to focus well) also more updates tomorrow of the skink priests as more have been done, but no photos have been taken as of yet! also i have begun thinking about more Kroxigor ideas! means i will have Krox that will actually look like Crocs ... also what would you guys like to see more of on the gaming tables? i always love a challenge when it comes to converting models or even scratch building characters!, so would you like to see me build and paint?
So ive almost finished building up the unit of skinks = Kroxigors! still some work on the Krox to do but not much, and will need to buy another 2 boxes of skinks for now to finish the unit! the Cold ones are also almost done, just need to add skink beast masters! and then i believe that will be them! =] =]
Dread saurian... lol lots of green stuff and lots of hours to convert him, but it will be worth it! =] =]
haha yeah the tail is mid being made! its proving very expensive though due to the amount of green stuff being used, but it is deffo coming along nicely! the back/legs/feet and chest are all being re made to look more like a crocodile type lizard! =] =]
