Hi, I've just recently gotten into the warhammer, well tabletop games for that matter. These are the first few units I've finished painting. I've had trouble with applying the oranges, they tend to look a bit 'chalky'. Any technique advice would be great!
You could add a sepia wash to the orange (whatever GW is calling it theeses days), that should smooth out the chalkyness ans shade all in one go. Ps. great paint scheme.
The use of orange is a nice idea and your brush work is crisp and clean. I'm also a fierce advocate of red and cream Cold Ones! GW also has an orange wash, a Shade colour called Fuegan Orange. It's a lovely wash, and I think it could work better than Sepia. In my opinion, both the Cold One and the rider could use some kind of wash, too. Keep up the good work!
Your skinks are looking pretty awesome! Your lizard is a little "flat" in areas, try agrax earth shade wash on the gold and shield, and a brighter red dry brush to the shield will contrast it out. I wish I could do eyes like yours, mine invariably end up as blobs....
