    Hey guys,

Well I finally got down to starting the painting of my Lizardmen. Used to 40k mainly and I have noticed my painting had to adjust a bit. As far as fantasy goes I have like 3k in goblins and on the rank in file I admit after base coating 50 of them, I opted to dip them. For lizardmen I have pledged to myself to completely hand paint the whole army.

So first up, I opted to start the army with one of my primary Lord choices with my Slann:

Still needs some tightening up but I'd like your thoughts:

Working on his litter now. One thing I noticed when I started on the details that there are a lot more then I thought. Many critters, leaves, and what not. I'm also going to pick out a few of the etchings.

Anyways, thanks for reading and be sure to give your thoughts.

Thanks! For the rest of the army that's what I'm about to delve into. Thinking this:

Saurus: Medium grey skin, black scales, with orangish markings (tiger stripe it spots). Unsure on the shields.
Kroxigor: Brownish-grey with a tan belly. Basically crocodile looking. Not 100% on it though.
Skinks: going to try multi colored poison frogs. Found this nice blue black I think might work well. Depends on if I can pull it off. Seen a couple good ones done but more often then not, they are done badly in my opinion.
Cold ones: Dark grey with light grey or black tiger stripes.
Riders: Dunno if I want to mimic the regular saurus or give them their own separate colorization to represent another spawning.
Carnasaur: green, maybe with some markings of some sort.
    Stegadon: undecided
    Bastidon: undecided
Salamanders: lava style with the scales going the darkest. Have yet to hold the model in my hands so unsure yet.
Razordons: skin I'm unsure. The scales I'm going with either a glossy black stone like onyx or a metallic color to show the lethality
The dactyls: unsure. The rippers though I'm think will be scarred and bloody.
The thing I'm really torn on are the Temple Guard as I want them to look different then the saurus but unsure how as of yet

The inspiration for the army are these:

I really do like that Slann, it exudes toxicity! I usually try and move away from 'traditional' colour schemes (eg. green for Slann, blue for Saurus), but I have to admit you've done a great job on this one!

First off this is the pic of my Slann. Since this pic was taken I added highlights to the bone tips and to the gold. I'm just too lazy for another pic:

Now for a (very) ruff color test on my saurus:

    Thoughts?

Looks very interesting. Reminds me of like a stone/copper mine color. Can we see it in different facings? It will help give better criticism/comments.

I wonder if a gloss finish on the slann will improve him by making him look a bit slimy. He looks like he is ready to do the business though!

    Speaking of business,
I find the thought of slann litter intriguing. Do the Temple Guards take turns emptying it out?

I would also like another view of your test SW. I think those scale colours are very menacing (and well done). The weapon, shield or bling colours will need to stand out to make the whole unit visually interesting.

Struggling with the crest on if it should be bone or maybe orange with black stripes. The smother skin I a medium to light grey

I like what I see here. I'm also doing a striped pattern on my saurus but I think I've made the stripes a bit too subtle sometimes. Yours are nice and bold and the contrast makes them really visible. Keep it coming!

Saurus look so good striped. Mine are also too subtle. Hat's off to your boldness sir, it works!

Yeah these look great man and thank you for posting them in different facings. Much appreciated! Really liking the color scheme you have chosen. Definitely haven't seen one like this before.
