Re: Stegadon Helm and Piranha Blade I cut the horns off of a Bloodletter and added it to the in-box commander head, lucked out with the tails of the snakes flowing into the horns like that! The blade is made from a 40k ork warbiker kit which is also where I nabbed his Shoulderpad. I think I'm going to basecoat him and get some of the detailing done before I glue him together further. What really makes an Oldblood stand out in an army for you guys? I feel like he's missing something...
Re: Stegadon Helm and Piranha Blade I think he needs to look old and craggy, like mega battle worn to pull it off! When I get round to doing mine (long way off) i was thinking of doing bone armour, with his scaling growing round/over it, to kinda show hes been around that long, survived the worst and hes still getting bigger?
Re: Stegadon Helm and Piranha Blade You could carve in some nicks and scratches into his armor to make it look a bit more battle worn.
Fineshed Oldblood Just need to add on a few more armor bits and polish up the paint. Really happy with how he turned out, better than expected! Would not want to be staring at that charging across the battlefield; now on to the fluff section to research a name.
I have been very unimpressed with all the GW old bloods /scar vets and seeing this... gave me hope. You sir have one amazing old blood. He looks like he can single handedly carry you to victory. Well done!
