Also I was wondering what lore of magic I should use, so any suggestions on that?
at 1500 points you might be able to overwhelm people with 2 big saurus blocks, but most likely the list is just too slow. no units for redirecting seems like I could make winning games very difficult. what is the scoring system? scenarios? also, without loremaster life is riskier IMO than something like light or death.
I was thinking of switching the bastiladon for 5 cold one riders, but anyway the tournament consists of 6 tiers and the scenario is Battleline. Also I think I am set to battle wood elves first. P.S we are allowed to have 3 different lists that we may use throughout the tournament.
I see I see. well, as I said unless you can do some serious damage with magic, with your list you risk the enemy just slamming into your saurus blocks early with nothing you can do about it. unless your goal is to allow that to happen and just toss repeated life buffs onto your saurus but /shrug. saurus are a hardy troop choice, but against most elite units they will still get punished. poison shots are just the answer to so many issues the lizardmen have, namely high toughness targets. they allow you to speed bump and soften up their main blocks, or keep smaller units away from the flanks of your blocks. without chaff of your own you also risk getting your blocks chaffed up while your opponent can maneuver to get off better combo charges onto your blocks. either way, i'd say if you have considerable experience running a list similar to the one you have currently i'd just go with it. bring some skinks and you can adjust if needed.
First off I would like to say that I am relatively new to lizarden and I have about 4 games under my belt so I would like it if you could help me build a list. Assuming that this list is not playable.
well, that's hard to judge really since the strength of a list depends a lot on the general behind it and the armies you will be playing. assuming you'll be playing against mostly competitive lists from mostly competitive armies, i'd format your core around 1 reasonably sized block of saurus (20-30) and filling up the rest with skirmishers with javs/shields. after that its really up to you. bastiladons are awesome, terradons, temple guard, chameleon skinks are all effective special choices. with rare you are basically choosing between steg/sally or some mixture of both. at the end of the day a list you like and that fits your play style will often be a much more enjoyable experience than one you do not, even if its technically a "better" list. for example, skinks can be quite finicky. they are an amazing unit, but require quite a bit of finesse to be as annoying with them as absolutely possible. you set up your redirectors wrong and instead of slowing down the enemies big block you gave them a beautiful overrun into your flank, or fleeing the rest of your units off the board. i think the best advice would be to go with the list you have currently, and make another list with less saurus/more skinks and see how you feel after the first game. use this tournament to understand and fine tune your list, as with only 4 games experience its doubtful you'll be crushing the top tables but than again, you never know! one last little tidbit, is that at 1500 points every army is going to have less tools. something like a survivable cowboy scar vet with 1 up rerollable save is going to be quite tough to get rid of. elite units will be smaller and heroes/lords will have less items making the high toughness high armor save 150 point hero nearly impossible to kill. if your curious about scarvet builds there are plenty of threads floating around this forum currently that talk in depth about how the pros and cons of different builds. edit: just wanted to say that by no means should my word be taken as some golden standard. I've never been to a tournament myself, have only played casually for many years and have been active with the discussion for some time. as my advice has little to back it up (to first place finishes, etc etc) i'd of course take it with a grain of salt
