7th Ed. 1.5k vs. Ogres

    I'm going to be playing my mate's ogres this weekend and was wondering if anyone had any pointers on how I could improve my list?

    Saurus Scar-Vet
    Light Armour, Shield + Spear
    Cold One
    Bane Head + Venom of F.F 142

    Skink Chief
    Light Armour, Shield + Javelins
    Stegadon
    Sacred Stegadon Spear 352

    Skink Priest
    Level 2
    Diadem of Power 125



    20 Saurus Warriors
    Full Command
    Spears 270

    20 Saurus Warriors
    Full Command 250



    8 Saurus Cavalry
    Full Command
    Jaguar Standard 355

    TOTAL 1494

    He should be playing something along the lines of:

    Bruiser
    Butcher
    6 Bulls
    6 Bulls
    20 Gnoblars
    Gnoblar Scraplauncher
    4 Ironguts
    Gorger

    I'd say drop your cold ones to 5 and put your saurus on a cold one in the unit instead, then I would suggest dropping all the saurus warriors and put in skinks skirmishers in thier place, alternatly keep one unit of saurus warriors probably the spear unit. Then throw in some kroxigors,

    Basically the bane of ogres are skinks, they can move circles around them and shoot them to death, with the exception of the butcher who is immune to poison. The saurus speed makes them weak to the ogres who can out manauver them and slaughter them in a bull charge, also they suffer from a lack of S to finish the ogres. Thats where the Krox come in they are equivelent to ironguts amd will eat through ogres with ease.

    I've slaughtered ogres tons of times and trust me skinks are the way to go.

    I agree, skinks tear unarmered or lightly armored troops to pieces (like giants and virtually everything ogre)
