    hi,

    so ive been reading through my army book the last few days and ive been playing around with a few lists and this is what i have come up with to form the 'CORE' of my new army.

    Heroes:

    Scar-Vet (General): Light Armour, Sheild of Maiming and Sword of Battle.

    Skink Priest (LvL 1): Diadem of Power.

    Core:

    2x 15 Saurus Warriors: Spears and Full Command.

    2x 10 Skink Skirmishers.

    Special:

    5x Cold One Cavalry: Musician and Standard.

    total = 995 points

    so what do you guys think? good solid list to begin with?

    cheers!

    if you can find the points I you should upgrade that skink priest to level 2. The diadem (I know what's written is ambiguous) can only use the power dice produced by the mage himself. Also, you could save money by buying a battalion. it contains 20 saurus, 8 cold one cavalry, 12 skinks and 10 temple guard. The temple guard doesn't fit into a 1k list very well (IMO), but will be useful if you get a slann at 2k.

    It looks like a good start indeed.
    And I agree with lorslimshady, get that priest up to LvL 2. That's one more DD! Which gives you 5, now you can try and dispell a spell with 3 dice, and one with 2. That's good magic defence to begin with.
    To get the points you could drop the champions from the Saurii, I usually field my 15 SW with spears, mu and st. And they don't really need that champ, unless you have a lot of super-killy characters in your enviroment. You could drop the standard on your SCOR, to really make that a flanking unit. Instead of a hammer/flanker. But that's just me, last one:
    Downgrade a unit of skirmishers to 'regular' skinks (if you really need champs). This is however not my favorite option, because skink cohorts are annoying to your opponent too! :p
    i think you can/could save point on one of these 3 things. What you do is up to you, personal playing style is very important.

    Anyway, hope it helps.
