Ill be playing a tournament in my local store in 2 weeks and i'm having serious troubles to fit a balanced list. I've never had any issue on games at 1200 points but I can't really find the key on 1000 pts. The tournament is set for pairs. 2vs2 battles. 1000 points each player. The list is build for "all comers" as if I was playing alone. Just to find balance. Here it comes: Lords Oldblood w/ shield & armour of destiny & luck stone & other trickster shard & sword of strife? (+1 to hit) Heroes Skink shaman lvl2 lore of beast w/ dispel scroll & ruby ring of destruction (fireball spell) Core 20 Saurus warriors w/ spear & champion. 12 skinks cohorts 12 skinks cohorts Special Bastiladon w/ solar engine 3x Ripperdactyles Total: 999
Army 1 - lord Tehe. Hero Scar vet bsb + skaven pelt banner. Core 20 saurus Hw+sheild FI Special 5 cold ones full command Bastilidon with arc of chotek. -- Army 2: Hero Gor-rock Core 41 saurus horde formation hand weapon sheild FI Special 4 jungle swarms 5 ripperdactyls ---- Very fun army to play with. Had a great time. Won 3/5 games we played. And one loss was to one of the top 5 teams so was really chuffed with 39/99. Will be playing a solo tornement soon which I'm happy to document. Oh lastly ... team name... "We built this city on Gor-rok and roll" all from my thread of when I went to battle brothers. Which is the tornement style your playing... all I will recommend... teto-eko.... His van gaurd allies rule would span to your partner if trusted and will be amazing in a game of this size!!! Bastilidons are epic at this points level do you know who your ally is? Jp
Thanks for the suggestions but this tournament doesn't allow special characters. I'll be doing more list if I can find one that suit my needs.
Skink Priest Lvl 2 with scroll, iron curse icon Saurus X22 FC 4 units SkSk w/jav shield Bastilidon (Solar engine) 2 Salamander packs w/extra handler 1000pts even Lots of chaff, decently shooty and active in every phase. Not to mention sometimes people will let wyssans go througjh on a skink unit cause "skinks suck" but increased strength helps the to wound with javs and with 6's to poison on to hit they can shoot down quite a lot when focusing fire. Saurus stand up to almost anything in these small games; I like Sword and board for smaller units but spears work well too. Keep your priest close to stop PF overrun. Use your basti to draw dice maybe get wyssans on your saurus in a key combat (or free shooting and try to IF wyssans) very versatile. My two cents; do what you like. Good luck.

Lords Oldblood General on Cold one. w/ light armour, great weapon , Charmed Shield (2+ against first hit), Talisman of Salvation (4++) & Other Trickster Shard Heroes Skink chief BSB w/ javelin , light armour, enchanted shield & Egg of Quango Scar veteran on Cold One. w/ light armour, shield, sword of strife (+1 to hit) & potion of strenght Core 10x Skink Cohort 10x Skink Cohort 16x Skink Cohort; Musician; Standard; 2 Kroxigors Special 3x Ripperdactyles Rare Salamander w/ extra snack This list lacks of magic but have all what I want in the field. I discard magic due to not being a certain option, its so random and cost many points. I must add that my pair will be WoC so I would have the power dice shared with my partner. And being low points game, their wizards can't be all powerfull and carry ward saves. So both Rypperdactyles or Cowboys could kill them. The "big" skrox unit I think could hold enough for being steadfast for a round. This unit are lead by the BSB skink chief with 3+ AS. So its hard enough to kill. The static CR of this unit is +3 ranks +1 std +1 bsb + EoQ random scores. And the cowboys are good enough for holding & killing any kind of nasty things I'm sure will be fielded. Ill post how this list performs.
Bad luck this time. It was 2vs2 and my partner got ugly dice rolls and what was supposed to overwhelm just run for 3 turn off the table. So my partner got low dice roll on combat and high dice roll on leadership. On my side I didn't play smart enough. I really miss the March & Shoot from Skirmishers. Also all my options where shutted down by a terrorgheist. Which at this points game its hard to deal without slann. The unit of skinks worked great. But the Egg didn't (the story of the game... bad dices) Maybe I'll do some changes. I'll try to make a double block list. One with the skrox and the other with templeguard.
