    Hi all,
My friend and I are going to play a game soon, he's fielding Malus Darkblade and i field Gor-rok.

this is his list I think:

    malus darkblade @ 275 points

    5 darkriders w/rxb @ 110 points
    5 darkriders w/rxb @ 110 points

5 cold one knights w/ standard or champion @ 151 points
    5 shades w/ great weapons @ 90 points
    5 shades w/ add hw @ 85

    war hydra @ 175 points

    total 996

there is a small chance that he might try to squize in a sorceress as well.

what would be good against him? I have a skink priest, saurus hero (foot/mounted), the new battalion, a box of skinks, a jungle swarm and three sallies.

    please help

    well thats a bit broken
seen as a game needs to be 2000 points to field Lords ;)

but to be honest having kroq-gar is proberly best way of dealing with any large creature
    carny
    d3 wound per unsaved= awsomness

Malus Darkblade is a hero, isn't he?

    And I have Gor-rok not Kroq-gar

Yeah, no prob with your armies. Last time I met Malus, I got massacared, but that was mainly becous of a rather heavy shooty list.. I would probably give your sallies a high priority in this game.. Try fielding a small block of 15 saurus spears and 5 CoR as the bulk of your army. then add in 2 units of skink skirmishing and round out with 2 sallies. then add whatever suits your preffs the most. Gor-Rok could be a nice match vs Malus :)

Yea I was thinking of something like that too, would it be nice to squeeze in a priest?

    Gor-rok.........................................215

    2x10 Skink skirmishers...................140

    15 Saurus warriors.........................180
    -spears + FC

    5 Saurus cavalry.............................225
    -standard+Huanchi

    5 Chameleon skinks.........................60

    2 Salamander hunting packs.............155
    -1 extra handler

1000 points spot on. Something like this?

@Skinkyone: nevermind :D I've done that before, countless times :p

This is a really nice looking list. You will exell in CC but suffer from magic.
at 1k I would probably go without the priest. If he goes heavy shooty, run ahead with your CoR and support with Saurus. If not use the as a classical Hammer/anvil combo. camos march block enemy cav and take out whatever light armor unit they come across. Gor-rok can take a cavalry charge on his own and the sallies should work wonders vs light armor T3 units. Forced Panic is great ;)

    Thanks for the advice!

Should i run gor-rok on his own when facing cavalry? Can he take Malus and his unit of cold ones on his own?

He is stubborn, so you wouldnt need to worry about CR. Due to his shield, he makes an extreme defending character. as Malus with his higher movement, he will probably charge you, without any precalculating, I would assume Gor-Rok to hold his ground for atleat one round and probably even more. This makes him a really nice pit for the enemy incoming cavalry and gives you time to flank him.

Don't put Gor-Rok versus other Cold One Riders.

They cause fear and Gor-Rok neither causes fear nor is ItP.
So even you get no wounds and neither do they. They outnumber you with Fear.
So when u lose combat by -1 and causes fear you have to roll Insane courage.

    Not a good idea. :D
