What about causing fear in skaven? I have been seeing them quite a bit lately at tourneys and it sounds like 8th will make them even better.
when you're sure you'll meet skaven half of the time, and you really want to take it, ok. But for 25 pts you can get something just as usefull(even more usefull most of the time) wich works against all armies. Fear isn't that good.
Im pretty sure your list isn't legal... the new limit on heroes (25%) of the total points... you are above that limitation Im afraid... A real shame (consider how hard it will be to fit EotG into a low pointed battle now)
Its 25% Lord and 25% heroes (the old blood is a lord), so you could have 50% of your list being characters. The only requirement(for lizardmen at least) is that 25% of your army be core, and you have 3 units total.
Another thing I have heard from someone who read the book... No model is ever allowed to get an armor save better than 1+. So an Oldblood on Cold One only needs light armor or a shield to max out at 1+. The good news is he can then be free to use two handed weapons, but sadly the days of 0+ and -1+ armor saves are gone.
If its 25% lords and 25% heroes... Im quite happy again! (Sorry for the off topic) As for your force... I Play a 1000 pts dwarf force with 2 bolt throwers and an organ cannon... it would make a crater of your list... you need something to counter those potential warmachines. I think I would exchange the salemanders for some "flying-rock dropping-javelin slinging-skinks" 3 should do at 1k. This would leave you with 60 pts... if you could get 10 more -> 10 skink skirmishes (if blowpipes can run 'n shot... you have a, small, but excellent meat shield).
Skink skirmishers are going to be warmachine destroyers, as now there is no randomization. Just shoot at them and roll 3 sixes.. dead warmachine. The average number of sixes when rolling 20 dice? 3.33 That is assuming no armor on the crew, dwarves being the exception with their light armor.
Versus dwarves, there is a decent chance, that you'll find the bigger warmachines in hard cover... and perhaps having an engineer supporten them (perhaps a master engineer... ouch).
Just My opinion. But i Prefer to work with a razordon and salamander (both with extra handler) in stead of 2 salamanders. And...Is it not true that the oldblood is a lord (so cannot be placed in a army under 2000 points?) Greetings, Nericon
nope it's just the point cap(you know 25% lords, 25% heroes), you couldn't use a lord under 2000 pts battles in 7th ed, but this is a list build for 8th ed
