I have a battle tomorrow morning against my brother again. I'm expecting to come up against a big block of warriors, maybe a unit of 5 knights, some hounds. He will either have an exalted hero or a Chaos sorcerer on Manticore (depending on his points available) My list: Gor-rok (because he is a beast) Lvl 2 Skink Priest with Ruby Ring 19 Saurus Warriors w/FC (Gor-rok will go in here) 13 x skirmishes (my best units by far) 12 x skirmishes Bastiladon (extra spell and combat support) 3 x Ripper (brand new and want to try them out)
Just remember with the rippas, if they don't have the high initiative you will lose some before atttacking. I love em, but you generally get more millage out of them against artillery and multi toading
Hooooly!!! I agree that Got-Rok is a fkin beast. I use him all the time, whether im doing a 1000, 1500, or 3000 point battle. He's always my first pick in the list. With his T:6 and his shield, he practically becomes invincible!!!! The best is that on a 2+, he ignores all the killing blow, heroic killing blow, and Dwounds. A shame that he only has 2 wounds though, but he is only worth the 92.5 skavenslaves. Otherwise, this seems to be a good list. You seem to me to have a bit too many skirmishers. a unit of 12 of them seem sufficient as they have blowpipes with 2 shots and poisoned attacks. I would replace them with 8 more saurus warriors, or even a few more rypperdactyls or Terodactyls. Have a good game! Good list!
I'm still learning all the rules so I apologise for the noob question. If his unit of warriors is up against my unit of saurus and the rippers get a flank charge, will they get attacked before they attack? Will all the warriors attacks the saurus or can he choose who attacks who? Thanks
No need to be sorry, the rules can be a little tricky (try reading the Piranha/Steg helm thread). It doesn't matter how many units are in a combat you start at ASF at then work through initiative order. Warriors are I5? So they will always go before everything in our army (not magic intervention or counting characters with magic swords) If you get a flank charge the warriors that are in base to base contact with the rippas have to fight the rippas. The warriors don't get supporting attacks when fighting in the flank, so it would just be what is in B2B contact. The guy on the corner because he will likely be in B2B with both the saurus and the rippas will get to choose who he wants to attack. If there is a character in the unit, it is allowed to make way into combat. If it is already in B2B with say saurus then he won't be allowed to make way to the rippas(who he will most likely butcher). So even if you charge with both in the same turn, make sure the saurus resolve their charge first. If you need more help you are prob better of asking in the rules subforum. Just because you'll get somebody that explains things much better then I.
