This is my first list Ive made for Lizardmen, please tell me what you think about it. Heroes: Skink priest: 140p lvl 2, cloak of feathers, plaque of tepok Scar-veteran: 145p Light armor, enchanted shield, burning blade of chotec, cold one mount Core: 12 Saurus: 174p command, spears 12 Saurus: 162p command 20 Skink skirmishers: 140P Special: 5 Cold one riders: 175p (Scar-vet. goes here) 5 Chameleon skinks: 60p Total: 996p I tried to fit a stegadon but decided not to, do you think i should remove something and take one instead? Thanks for replies
A Diadem of Power for the skink would be way nicer.. Heavens ain't that great without sitting on a big steg..Perhaps drop the cloak aswell.. You will be dispelling or Cast a portant/Second Sign.. so you will probably have 2 PD left to store in the Diadem if you think you will need it. Try to get your Saurus to 15 each.. and your second unit spears aswell. You need 85 points for that.. You could also take 20 Saurus as unit.. That would be 258 points( I normally don't pick Champions .. if you want one it would be 270) instead of 336. Divide your skinks into 2 units of 10.. so you can have one unit on your left and right. No need for the Chameleons I think.. Scout is fun.. you could get 8 more skinks instead of them.. they do pretty much the same job. I'd say get your saurus to one unit.. maybe drop the CO on the Scar vet..but thats up to you.. Chameleon's not really needed.. GoodLuck
Thanks for the tips Would it be worth taking an ancient stegadon with EotG in a 1000p game? I could keep the core units in this list, the skink priest, and some more I think if Id take one. Would a normal stegadon be better?
I myself don't like to put alot of points in one unit at 1000 points.. Numbers is what count.. It makes you focus on defending the EotG too much to get some attacking done. A Steg is a hard smasher at 1k battles.. Maybe a normal Steg if you really want to use one..
How about I replace the chameleons for a salamander or razordon? Im going to try that since the chameleons havent been that good so far.
I'd say drop the chams, halve the skinks to 10 and put those additional points into your saurus, that way you have a strong core, you can flank with the CoR and use the skinks to bait slower infantry and shoot units as your force advances. Drop the plaque, diadem of power is ok here but not necessary as magic wont be heavy in 1k game. I don't think CoF is a neccessity here, I tend to play 1k games on small boards so that's just my experience, maybe it's different for you. The mount isn't vital, but if you do take it, take him solo, not with the CoR's. The additional save plus the blade chosen and movement, makes him a good challenger. In a 1K game you won't tend to find a tougher general than a scar-vet and with your re-roll magic you should be able to take down the majority of generals an opponent will field. Once you've taken down the general you should be able to take apart the rest of the force just in a war of attrition. I would say don't go for anything too flash, as WheelR said, numbers are your friends here, no expensive hitters. Hope this helps -Eagle-
