Hi I am new to the warhammer scene and have played a few games with my lizardmen running two lists and have had similar problems with both of them. If anyone could pick out the bad parts that are brining me down as my block of saurus tend to fail there leadership test and run after my oldblood gets demolished in combat. Here are the lists 1x Oldblood with enchanted shield 32x Saurus Warriors in on big block for horde 3x Ripperdactyls 1x Lvl2 skinks priest with lore of beasts 1x Ancient stegadon with engine of the gods and the other was 1x Oldblood with blade of realities 32x Saurus in a block 1x Skink priest level 2 lore of beasts in skirmisher unit 10x Skink skirmishers with blowpipes and skink priest 10x Skink skirmishers with blowpipes 1x Unit of two Salamanders Both lists are roughly 1000 points but i was wondering what else i could do to stop the saurus running away and to make sure the oldblood does what he is good at!
Park the skink priest in a skirmisher unit behind the saurus he's there to cast wyssans anyway; so he'll kepp predatory fighter in check. I like the second list over the first one only because if you're going to have an oldblood on foot he needs to be kitted out and the steg is just a warmachine magnet with a less than stellar ward. I like the AOD/pirahna blade combo personally. That with a shield keeps him in the 25% and gives him a 1+/4+ and the D3 wounds is great when you manage to sneak past a ward as well as making him effective against multi-wound models. If you mangae to get savage beasts he can wreck face all on his own at a 1000 pts, but it does make him a target; hence the AOD for the 4+ ward. You are missing some quickness; so since sallies can double as chaff maybe drop a skirmisher unit and work in some fliers or chameleon skinks. Best of luck.
