hi guys, next week I´m up for some games with my friends nad I might need some advice.

in my recent games, my skink units have just died very quickly, this is probably my own fault but I think I´ll go for more solid units this time. anyone who knows any tips on hows to use my different units in hte game?
do you think a stegadon would be a bit overkill at 1000p, or should i try it?
I´d be glad to hear from you, but here´s a possible list:

    scar veteran- Lt. Armour, shield
skink priest- lvl 1, plaque of tepok

    15 saurus- spears
    15 saurus- spears, full com.
    10 skink skirmishers- jav´s & shields

    stegadon
    5 chameleon skinks

    sally

    army total: 1001 pts

    anyone??

Hi in answer to ur question I would advise using 2 units if jungle swarms if u have them! If so use these instead of the stegadon coa yea I think it is a bit too much:) try to keep the akirmishers but try more saurous warriors in units of 20(minimum) allso include cavalry, and try to get the oldblood on a carnosaur!

    Hope this helps!:)

well you can forget about the Oldblood on carnosaur, those together will blow the 25% limit into pieces :p
I know a unit of 15 saurus is a bit small, so maybe I´ll take 1 unit of 20 and spend the rest of the points on other stuff...

I'm not sure he's much overkill in a 1000 point game. You can trust that there will be a monster out there somewhere in someone's army. And he _should_ take a bit of a beating from any warmachines or shooting to keep the rest of your army alive at the very least.

Though, with those points, there is a lot you could take

In terms of spears, in 15 model blocks, I don't think they're worth it. The extra 5 attacks isn't going to particularly save you (well, it MIGHT), but the biggest thing is, with the initiative of saurus, you're going to lose a few of those attacks right off the bat. In a 20-25 man block, maybe, since they have to get through 5-10 saurus to take out the extra attacks.

To keep in the spirit of your army and stay in the 1000 point range

    Heroes
    ----------------------
    Scar Vet
    - GW, Light Armor, Venom of Firefly Frog
[This guy will dish out some damage to anything big and nasty (assuming he's still alive to do it)]
    Skink Priest
    - Plaque of Tepok

    Core
    ---------------------
    Saurus Warriors x20
    - Full command

    Skinks x14
    - 1 Kroxigor
    [Fielded 6x3]

    Skink Skirmishers x10
    - Blowpipes

    Special
    ---------------------
    Chameleon Skinks x5
    [For warmachine hunting mostly]

    Stegadon
    [For crunchy goodness]

    Rare
    ---------------------
    Salamander Hunting Pack
    - w/ 3 handlers

    1001 points
(if you need to stay less than or equal to 1000, you can drop the light armor or venom on the scar vet or the plaque on the priest and play with skink numbers to get back to 1000)

    Have fun!

I'd drop the plaque on the priest, he's lvl1 so he won't be casting that much...
With those points I'd buy an extra snack for the Salamander and a musician in the Skrox unit.

You could also choose to drop the priest alltogether and buy some more stuff, the extra +1 to dispell is nice. But is he really necessary? Something to think about :)

On the whole, the list looks nice and balanced. Some skinks, a block of tough warriors, a salamander and a big nasty.

    Good luck!
