Hey guys I'm entering a 1000pt tournament. I was playing around with some ideas and this what I came up with

Scar-vet, great weapon, cold one, armour of destiny
    Skink priest lvl 2 beast

24 Saurus warriors, hand weapon and shields, banner
11 skinks skirmishers with javelin and shields

10 cold one riders with spears
    5 chameleon skinks

I'm open to all opinions, let me know what you think

Seems like a solid enough start. What models do you have on you that you might use?

Scar-vet, great weapon, cold one, armour of destiny. Make him cold one, GW, Dawnstone, Dragonhelm. LM. Then you have a 1+ rerrolable armour save, 2+ ward against flaming. This is better then just a 4+ ward.
Skink priest lvl 2 beast Solid. You dont need a scroll in 1000 points. Always take Wyssans Wildform.

24 Saurus warriors, hand weapon and shields, banner
11 skinks skirmishers with javelin and shields Skink priest goes here ofcourse.
Try to ad more skink skirmishers in stead of saurus cav?? They are great, especially in low points.

10 cold one riders with spears Seems a unit that is to big. See 5 knights with spears and a muscian just as a delivry system for your scar vet. The second rank only has one attack, is mega expensive and does not contribute much.
5 chameleon skinks. Warmachine hunting seems not that big of a deal as you have no monster, but they are good nonetheless.

Great, then there is lots of room for improvement! You should go for 4 units of 10 man skink skirmishers, all with javelins and shields, no braves. For this you should cut 5 Knights and a few saurus warriors. sauri are better when they are led by a Slann, you don't have one. Just one Stegadon is quite bad, if your opponent has a cannon you will cry. You could even spin the list in a totally different way and ad even more skinks and rippers by losing the saurus warriors, but i do not feel that thsi makes the list better per se, and it wil be a lot harder to play. Use the skinks as screening units, do not be afraid o throw them away to keep your opponents big units away for a turn. Most 1K games are won on single engagements or the removal of certain key units or characters. Your key units are the Saruri, the Knights and in certain matchups the unit with your wizard. Be carefull with them, support with the rest.
