    hey

i used to run 24 man unit of saurii but they gave up a crap load of vp when they die, so im considering switching to 2 12 man units

any opinions on this would be most helpful as im not surw thats the best idea

oh and ps: i cant buy any more saurii at the moment (looking for a job i can do while in school)

    thx in advance

Tactically two units are more flexible that one large one, allowing you to attack two different enemies at once or steam both 12-man units into the same target. If they've got spears then that means you could possibly have all 24 of them attacking in CC at the same time!

Smaller units are more easily destroyed by shooting, though, so watch out for that one.

Simple answer, though, is try it out and see what happens!

ya i was worried by shooting and magic too, but my EoTG and some celestial shield spells should help.

but yes i will be trying this out as soon as possible. the only problem is the dark M 4 oh well they should eventually hit something.......tight?

i donn't like units of 12 (6x2 probably), i use 15 (5x3) wich gives me 2 ranks and i can afford to lose 5 models before the spears lose effectiveness

They will have a different role, a much more supporting role than your big unit had. Depends on how you want to play really. I would probably be more tempted to go for a unit of 15 or 18 and use the spare points to support them with a unit of skinks as flankers since they are much faster and will get to where they need to be easier, but up to you.

Keep in mind that while a unit of 12 will die to shooting/magic a lot easier, since it is a lot smaller they wil seem a much lower priority target to your opponent and won't face as much firepower as the large unit.
