I'm leaving the HE pretty boys at home. Need to "Crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentations of their women." Looking for constructive criticism: Slaan 275 Focus of Mystery life ixti grubs 2 sallies HP 150 (425) 2x 24 Saurus w/ cmnd 540 (965) 10 TG command skavenpelt banner 220 (1185) I have 2 Krox or some skinks too, dont have any terradons, so looking for input
Drop the Ixti grubs, they are a waste. Drop focus of mystery and take focused rumination. Plaque of tepok for the extra spell. That way you get 5 of 6 spells and an extra casting die for the spells. If you can spare the points, make the slann a BSB at least (may not have the points to put a banner on him). If you cannot spare the points, I would at lest take rumination and BSB. Lore of Life will be the best lore at this level. You cannot take the skavenpelt banner unless you put it on a skink chief (BSB). You should take some chameleons or skirmishing skinks to shoot at war machines. Other than that, the list looks pretty good.
i agree. That would be an extra PD per cast, plus 5/6. Likely to get the spells I need and keep him to 300 points. The chameleons did not fit in this build, the sallies are what I am using to kill one guys Skaven A-bomb and to wreak some havoc with hordes and one guys DE crossbowmen. To get the chameleons I would have to drop some saurus and hope I get the restore spell in the lore of life.
Hello, I'd Make Salamander 2x1 Its its always better, 2 deplyments, 2 panic tests, Your enemy has to divide spells, and other stuff. The Slann with Rumination and Plaque of tepok is the best thing we can offer on a 1200 point limit Temple Guard aren't a good idea, especially 10 man sized. I play with 3x10 skirmishers 20 saurus 5 and 6 chamelon skinks. and a Saurus BSB. But on the other hand i Use Fire or Heaven on the Slann. 48 sauus warrios will keep your points but they won't kill much. I played a 1200 with a skaven guy, he fielded, a grey seer, A-bomb 42 clan rats and 2x50 slave rats. It would take for ever for sauruses to chop all that down(luckly we have salamanders The Abomb got some fireballs making it impossible to ressurect and I finished it with skinks The Dreaded 13th is a Saurus Killer watch out for it
The best defense against the dreaded 13th spell is Skrox units. They are immune to the spell. Of course, they do not pack quite the same punch as the saurus or TG unit.
How come 10 Tg is no good? I was going to keep them back with the slaan... i had planned for the sallies to 2x1 just did not communicate that properly...
Slann with TG tend to attract a hell of a lot of attention, and with the amount of points invested in it you then have to start using all your time to keep them alive least the slann go pop. This in turn means that other units go unsupported and arepicked of easier ( is a common tactic against lizardmen) with TG go all the way and have at least 20 to make them able to take some damage without having to baby sit them, or go without them and use the points where they will be more effective.
Almost feel like this is too early to be bringing in the Slann+TG, I think you would do better with a mounted Scar-vet general and a lvl 2 with Plague of Tepok. I'd then use those points to bring in some utility and speed like Chamos and Terradons/skirmishers. The army you have there has a sort of "sitting duck" feel to it, you're banking everything on the magic phase, most opponents should be able to break down or otherwise control 3 naked M4 blocks.
I disagree, I played a game this past weekend at 1250 points. I brought a slann with rumination and the crown of command. I put a scar-vet with the sword of battle (+1 attack) and the glittering scales in the same unit with the slann. That unit was 23 saurus warriors with HW and shields. The unit performed very well. I played a skaven player. The only thing that I would change is I would make the slann the BSB. At 1200 you could take the slann with BSB and rumination, Lore of Life. At the 1200 point level, the slann will be a game changer. I would probably take the scar-vet with the burning blade of chotec. I would also take a skink priest with a dispel scroll and the ruby ring of ruin (in case you get a regen unit or etheral unit).
