8th Ed. 1200 point pre end times list.

    After thinking for a bit, I've decided I like it! Only two things I would look at personally. First of all, I feel like 15 skinks may not last long in combat even with the Krox, but with a steg support charge and this points level, it might work. I haven't tried it myself! Second, you can only take one Krox per eight skinks in a cohort. At 15 skinks, you only qualify for one :( . Luckily, both of these things can be taken out with a single stone, though!

    You would need a minimum of 24 skinks to run 3 krox, so you would need to free up 63 more points to get 9 more skinks at 7 points a piece with poison upgrade.

    I would probably switch out the Engine of the Gods Steg for one with the standard giant blowpipes and save 50 points, then look to removing the skink brave and standard bearer to get the last few points you need. This would give you 70, so you could get an extra tenth skink in there. I don't like the idea of removing the standard bearer too much, but I don't really see any other easy way to get those last three points other than removing both your skink chief's light armor and shield, which is also an option. I would miss that extra armor save though :) .

    I have honestly never noticed the 1 Krox per 8 skinks rile before! I guess that's what happens when I use an army builder app!! I'll amend this asap.

    Apart from the skink+kroxigor unit issue I have a couple of comments.

    I fear that the low leadership of your entire army will be your doom. Don't get me wrong, I also like the list as it has good potential in every phase of the game. Tetto is really powerful choice in the low point game. Not sure if you necessarily need to find the points for more leadership but if I were you I would definitely find the points to include BSB in the list. Maybe just adding the flag for your chief.

    Other thing I would try to find out some points from is the sharpened horns for your stegadon. It is absolutely the best upgrade what you can give for them hands down. When I field stegadons I don't consider the horns as an additional option but a special rule that comes with the model and their points a bit higher. :D

    I considered giving the RipperChief a BSB but then thought he'd never be anywhere near the rest of the army (Save the rippers that he's proxying a 4+ from)

    I saw the same problem with the leadership, but didn't have a very good solution to it if I'm honest.
    I might reduce the Krox down to 2 (points depending), and see if I can put another Chief in the unit with a BSB. Will update the list when I get home from work. Can't do this. As with the pre-end times list, its 25% heroes/25% lords.

    I'll also add the Horns to the Steg and do some play testing. I have a few games on Friday so will update the list and let you both know how it plays. - As I don't have another ripper I've left the EoTG's on as the 6+ ward would be a nice bubble, plus it'll help tetto casting. :)
