I wanted to test out the new book so I created this new army list and am hoping to play it against my friend who has a skaven army.

    Heroes:

Scar Veteran: additional hand weapon, light armour, enchanted shield, Dragonhelm, Dawnstone: 128 pts.
(Didn't know if I could give additional hand weapon and shield since no rule-book, will change to halberd if I cannot.)
The idea for the guy is simple: beef up the saurus for pure slaughter.

Skink Priest: LvL 1, Lore of Beasts: 65 pts.
This cheap-ass priest is simply gonna toughen up my saurus, and stick near them to stop them from overrunning due to the predatory fighters rule. He might even use the signature spell on my skinks, as a round of strength 4 shooting is going to hurt the skaven!

Skink chief: light armour, enchanted shield, Dragonhelm, Dawnstone, lustrian javelin: 84 pts.
I simply wanted to power up my skink unit for fun, and this was just the guy! a 2+ re-rollable skink is nothing to laugh at! (or maybe it is?) but a lack of skink models and spare points drove me insane, so I thought, why not!

    Core:

Saurus warriors x25: spears, standard, musician: 295 pts
It was long ago I stopped putting champions in these tasty infantry... Besides, with the new predatory fighters rule you're likely to get that extra attack a turn anyway! These tough SOB's are my core, (the core of my core, anyway) and are going to e the guys dishing out damage to those rat men scum! Saurus are saurus, so why not take them?

Skinks x14: poisoned attacks, full command: 128 pts.
Okay okay, I said I don't take full command! But my skinkies benefit from an extra POISONED attacks, rather than normal ones. And yes... fourteen models... 10 innocent skinks slaughtered over the years... As I said, I had spare points, and besides, my skinks need all the help they can get to prepare for the slave bombs...

    Special:

    Jungle swarms x2: 70 pts.
Okay, in the last edition these guys weren't exactly pukker killing machines, but I had the models, (despite all the reptiles constantly falling of due to the crazy glue necessary) and so I stayed loyal to them, constantly pumping them into my army lists. Now however, the thought of two chunky blocks of saurus charging in with poisoned attacks is enough to make me drool. That's before I think of poisoned scar vets!

    Stegadon: Unstoppable stampede: 225 pts.
Stegadons. everybody loves them. and now they're cheap as very, very, extremely posh chips. Thanks to a lack of rule book, i do not even know what on earth devastating charge is, but it sounds nice for "devastating" those skaven scum.

    Rare:

Ancient stegadon: Engine of the Gods, Unstoppable stampede: 290 pts.
I love the fact that you don't need a priest to park his bottom on this anymore. Oh, the spells were also upgraded. I'm looking forward to giving this beast another go.

Thank you in advance for any positive feedback/constructive criticism.
    Happy gaming!

I don't have my BRB on me atm but I'm pretty sure you can't take a second HW with a shield. I THINK you can take it with the Halbred, since the TG have one, you just don't get to use it during CC.

    That was quick!
Probably will not take anything then, because I like my scar vet to have 1+ re-rollable!
    Thanks for replying so quickly,

Just noticed one more thing... again don't have my book on me. I'm not sure you can take the Enchanted Shield and Dragonhelm together since they are both magic armor, I think you can only have one. Even though if you think about it, he should be able to hold a shield and wear a helmet.... hopefully someone else will post to clarify.

Ummmmm... With the halberd, do you mean lose the parry or the +2 to the armour save?
Please not the second, please not the second *crosses fingers*

I've always played with TG that you don't get the armor save in CC. I would love to find out I'm wrong.

I have always played with TG getting a 4+ but no parry :shifty: maybe i'm wrong though because I don't have the BRB!

I lost my BRB a few months back and my new one doesn't come in the mail until Monday. I thought the Halbred was a 2H weapon so you couldn't use the shield in CC. One of us is wrong, so either I'm gonna be happy or you're gonna be sad. :)

Checked some online sources, looks like I was right.

You don't get the shield save in CC with a Halbred, you do at ranged though.
