    Going to a team tournament with a dwarf player. Because of the scenarios we decided to make a fast attack list (miners and rangers mainly for the dwarfs). The tournament rules also limits that you can't have lords, units cannot be more than 300 points and only 1 monster.

    + Heroes +

    * Skink Chief
    (Aquatic, Cold Blooded)
    Armor of Destiny, Shield

    * Skink Priest
    (Aquatic, Arcane Vassal, Cold Blooded)
    Dispel Scroll, To a Level 2 Wizard

    + Core +

    * Skink Skirmishers
    10x Skink Skirmisher

    * Skinks
    3x Kroxigor, Musician, 25x Skink, Standard Bearer

    + Special +

    * Chameleon Skinks
    6x Chameleon

    * Ripperdactyl Riders
    3x Ripperdactyl Rider

    * Ripperdactyl Riders
    3x Ripperdactyl Rider

    + Rare +

    * Ancient Stegadon
    Engine of the Gods, Sharpened Horns

    What do you think? Should I take something else? I didn't take salamanders cus dwarf player may take one grudge and also because you won't get many shots at units because the need to advance quickly. Do you think I should drop one ripper unit and take a salamander and something else instead?

    Ill give my opinions, but please take with a pinch of salt as I have not played the book yet, so this is all speculation ;)

    I would drop the engine, as it is VERY expensive, and doesnt really add anything decent (and you lose the pipes). It aslo frees up 50 points.

    Id also drop the krox from the Skrox unit. The fact that thyey can be hit in combat now (and first) severely reduces their effectiveness (in that size unit anyway). I'd run more skirmishers here, as the dwarfs can provide the combat blocks, but nhot he fast moving chaff.

    Unless you're trying to theme it, I'd take a Scar Vet Cowboy (Charmed Shield, Dawnstone, SoM, Light armour, Cold One). Better in combat, more survivable, better leadership. He's small enough to hide from cannons behing building etc too.

    Like I say, pinch of salt...

    I'd also suggest trying to get a BSB in there somewhere, with the generally low LD of skinks, those re-rolls could really come in handy.
