Last night I had a battle versus the Empire. It was a somewhat hasty setup, because it was getting late :p
It was a great battle, and we both had loads of fun!
This time i'm going to give more of a short summary, because my last turn-to-turn report did not get response...
    My list:
    General-Cold One-BBoC-Maiming Shield (which I forgot!)-Light Armor
BSB-CO-Enchanted Shield-Sword of Might, Light armor.
Standard set-up for my 2 Vets. Works good
19 Saurus Warriors, Spears, Standard, Musician
18 Saurus Warriors, Spears, Standard, Musician
    10 Skink Skirmishers
    10 Skink Skirmishers
    10 Skinks
    4 Terradons
    6 Chameleon Skinks
    1 Salamander, extra handler.

    Empire List:
    Captain-on Horse, good armor- ??
Captain-on Horse, good armor, always hits at 2+
BSB- on Horse, Banner of Stubborn
    25 Swordsmen FC
    --Detachment 10 Free Company
    20 Greatswords
    --Detachment 6 crossbows
    6 Empire Knights
    5(6??) Inner Circle Knights
    Great Cannon

There was a wood on the left (with my chameleons scouting in it!), a marsh in my center and some impasseble on the flanks.
Setup (from my Point of View)
Inner Circles, Free Company, Swordsmen with BSB, Greatswords with 2+ to hit dude, Crossbows, Knights, Great cannon
    facing:
    Chameleons (in the woods ahead)
10 Skinks with BSB, 19 Saurri, Skirmishers in between, 18 Saurri with General, Sala, more skirmishers and Terradons.

    First few turns:
IC move into the woods, get charged by BSB. Other knights run around my flank. his blocks move towards my blocks (and vice versa) skinks in between setting a trap. Swordsmen with BSB charge my characterless Saurii. I charge greatswords with my generals block.
We have a lot of combats by turn 3, but the most epic of them all was: 6 chameleons vs 3 Free company!
I got a good Sala shot at the entire flank, but he overshot killing a lot of Free company :p My Chameleons did their job in holding the Inner Circles for a turn, and charged in! The battle lasted untill turn 5, where his last free company managed to wipe out my chameleons!
My BSB faced off his Inner Circles for the entire battle, killing the hero in there but failing to kill the last!
The infantry battle wasn't really fair...my Saurus wooping his backside every turn :p Managed to wipe out his GreatSwords and bring his Swordsmen down to 2 (couldn't kill the last 7 of them in 3 combat rounds! Before: His Vanilla Knights ran all the way around, and my skinks on that flank got charged in the process :p. And in the 5th turn flank charged my characterless Saurri...I lost that combat by 3, and ran after i failed the re-roll. He then pursued into my skinks with 2 Swordsmen and the BSB which i held! :p
The last 2 turns were very close,
My BSB was almost done killing the IC, My Saurus warriors+General were making their way back to the killing grounds and will be in time IF: my Saurus Wariors could hold (Lost by 3,, so Ld5 Cold-Blood+Re-roll) OR if my skinks could hold (In generals range, + re-roll). They didn't...
So my General charged out of his unit to help out my BSB, but both my heroes fumbled.

In the end all that was standing was:
    1 Inner Circle Standard Bearer,
    4 Vanilla Knights
    2 Swordsmen with their BSB
1 hero with the 2+ to hit

    6 crossbows

    I had:
    BSB
    General
    17 Saurus Warriors
    Salamander

A very Fun and VERY bloody battle. I was ahead by 30 points in the end, so a hard-fought draw!

I definetaly made him sweat! I gave him no options in the first few turns, my infantry superior to his and showing that! I carved through his men...but they were stubborn so kept their ground. My BSB did outstanding, killing all but 1 of the Inner Circles and the hero in there. My Terradons did awfull, killing the crew only after 3 combat rounds, and by that time they were flanked by the crossbows and they fled the field!
The Sala had some shots, but the one time it could matter it failed...: he could panic the vanilla knights behind my lines, but did nothing...

I felt I had the upper hand, but the dice weren't that nice to me in the deciding break testes...
    Thanks for reading,

Are my battle reports really that bad?
I'd like to get some feedback on what to do (and what not to). If anyone would take the time,
it would be much appreciated. :artist:

    Hey there!

I like your list, I run similar in 1'000 - 1'500pts, gotta love Saurus blocks!

I can't really see a whole lot I'd change with your strategy, you seemed to be on your way to a massacre till a few unlucky roles at the end... always bad when the bad luck comes all in a row!

To be honest, you seemed like you went pretty well. The biggest weakness of Empire is their low LD and general weakness of standard troops.

On a different note, I really liked the battle report! I read the other one but I hadn't registered so I could post, sorry.

    Good job,
