hi im Tino ive been doing lizardmen a while but never actually played with my army im well aware that a 1500 p is big for starters but i find it harder to make smaller army ive tried to make a balanced army though i lack badly in core mainly cause ive bougth all the units seperately ive tried to balance it with. comments please dont mind being harsh i like to learn the hard way... and about the special units going over the limit of 3 ive talked with my friend whom im gonna play with and he accepted it cus i dont have any more cores at this point ..... but ignoring that hows this?

    1 stegadon with bow

    rare:

1 salamander hunting pack for a little extra firepower and im gonna test it at least once to see how useful a salamander can be + didnt find anything else to spend points

There is a really easy way to fix the extra special slot.. Make the Stegadon a Skink chief mount.

The rule that Saurus would lose their 2nd attack if they use spears got trashed.. They get the full 2 attacks now.. wich is just awesome ofcourse..Cold ones got Spears and Hand Weapon+Shield.. If you charge with spears you get an extra Strenght for the first round of combat.

As WheelR mentioned, check the main rulebook for weapon rules. They are often different if you are mounted. And Saurus get all their attacks now even with spears.

The other way to get rid of that extra special slot, which is probably cheaper, is to put the kroxigors into the skink unit making them ranked, then they don't take a special choice. ;)

Looks ok for a start, I would reconsider the scar-vet though. I can't really see how he is going to be that good for the army. Have a look around at different combos people are using. You probably know the saurus unit size isn't very effective, you want 5 across for a rank, possibly 6 across for more attacks, but if that is all you have for now then use it until you buy more. Maybe drop them to 15 if you want to put stuff in elsewhere. The CoK unit is pretty big, it is a big point sink, at that many models in a unit I would want them to have a magic banner as well. But in only 1500 points, consider dropping 2 of them and using the points elsewhere, provided you have models to use. Terradons are a great addition.

i have thinked a solution to my core problem and the issue with too many specials ... if i take the kroxigors off +
i take 1 saurus so i can make a 3x5 regiment + change the weapon from the scar vet from pirahana blade to a strength +1 wep i have just enough points to take another 3x5 saurus regiment would that be too drastic to take my krox off wholly or should i take somewhere else away so that i could make a skink krox regiment??

You need to think about that yourself, what do they do in the army? What other parts can fill their role? Were they essential to the army?

The krox are basically killing machines, they are designed to get into the flanks if possible and kill. Saurus aren't bad for core troops at killing on their own, Temple Guard are good at killing, and cold one knights are good at killing. Having said that, none of them are really flankers because the TG are too slow and the COs are a big unit so are fine to hit the front rather than go for flanks. So yes I think you would be better served with another unit of saurus than with the kroxigor.
