General. Scar Vet Cold One, Light Armour, Shield, Spear, Venom, Aura of Quetzl. Hero. Skink Priest. Level Two, Engine, Rod of the Storm, Blood Statuette of Spite. Core. 18 Saurus Warriors. Spears, Musician, Standard Bearer. 10 Skink Cohort (2) !0 Skink Skirmishers (2) Special. 5 Cold One Cavalry. Standard Bearer, Sun Standard. 10 Temple Guard. Standard Bearer, Plaque of Dominion. The list did very well today, my opponent only had a single unit of wild riders left on the table, who had been stuck in combat with my TG for two turns. The Blood Statuette got through but the wood elf mage made his toughness test so it was pretty useless. The Plaque of dominion wasn't very useful as my opponent kept his mage next to his general and tested three times for stupidity and passed. The sun Standard was amazing, my Cold One Cavalry with my Vet took, over the course of the game, 50 shots about 25 of which were S4 and lost a single model to the shooting. Skinks really underperformed, in three turns of shooting the skinks were all but dead, the last three ran off the board. Temple guard were brilliant, held a treeman up from turn two to turn four, when they finally broke they ran away rallied and took a combined charge from Glade Guard and Wild riders. over the next two turns the killed off the glade guard and the sole surviving TG died as the very last act of the game. Stegadon rocked the wood elf world. killed the treeman, ran down some dryads, killed of two units of archers and the wood elf mage in the last turn. Saurus were saurus. The Wood Elf Alter Noble died in a challenge with my scar vet. Overall I thought this list was a solid one, magic was strong with 5 power dice and two bound spells, I was also fairly safe from magic with 4 dispel dice. I had some great movement, and my shooting would have been pretty good had the skinks been able to get close enough to shoot anything. Overall the CC potential from this list was incredible. So, what do people think of this list? How would you play against this list (any army any build)? If anything, what would you change?
If you give the burning blade of chotec to your scarvet he can burn up those treemen. Plus, any armor woodelves would normally get from armor would be gone.
I considered taking the burning blade to deal with the treeman, but I decided against it. The stegadon can really put the hurt on the treeman so I figured that would be enough. Also the wood elves have a very small amount of armour saves and most of those are 6+ or 5+, very few are better than that. so a scar vet would get through those anyways. If I was playing a game at a higher points limit I would definitely put the BBoC in the list but I find that against the wood elves high WS the aura of quetzl and Venom combo works excellently, a scar vet will be hit on 4's as opposed to 3's and wounding on 5's that generally means one less hit a turn from a noble/elite unit whereas the vet is hitting the nobel/elite on 4's and wounding on 4's (3 if we charge) with 6's being auto wounds which are great againts the treeman as we hit on 5's and wound on 5's so that is half our hits that auto wound. However if I had to face WoC or Brets or Dwarves I would certainly without question take the BBoC.
