So here's my list from the Lizzie Battalion and box- Stegadon. I've played against dwarfs and won. Only got the stuff Monday so only had chance for one game. Everything worked pretty well, especially the Saurus. Heroes. Scar vet, Maiming Shield Sword of Battle. BSB armor War Banner shield Skink Priest lvl 2 EotG Scroll Core. 12 Skink skirmishers 28 Saurus, Command (Champ keeps heroes alive for one turn!) Special. 8 Cold Ones Standard Music Lizard Sun Standard. So there it is will be playing Ogres on Monday I think. Comments welcome.
Interesting list... I'm surprised at alot of your unit sizes. a block of 30 infantry!!! 8 cold ones!? Wierd sizes, problematic sizes. I mean your block of 30 has to be the slowest easily avoidable block ever, sure it hits like a train, but it's gunna take an entire march move to make a 90 degree turn. And you can't always march... If an experienced player sees this he'll easily avoid it and re-route it away from his important stuff, probably into a forest or something. I have enough trouble getting a block of 20 into combat without the enemy scattering the turn before I can charge. And 8 cold ones, you probably ranked them like on the box? 4x2? This formation is probably the worst, you don't get a rank bonus, and when you charge your down 2 riders (from the usual 6 wide). And I'd call you insane if you fielding them in one long row of 8, since only 6 can get into combat and you just make yourself this terribly slow turning hammer. I guess either gives you the ability to loose one or two from shooting, but I just don't see it as useful, you bottle-neck yourself with wide blocks. I've seen 7 wide for a unit of 14 (White Lions/Swordmasters etc) but 8 wide would be overboard. I'm glad you won, but you better be careful in upcoming matches. Good Luck...
Well, TBH the army is more a display piece first and for games second. So the big block of Saurus looks very impressive, but when I get metal heroes (instead of plastic conversions) I can make 2 smaller units. As for the Cold one's. I'm not a N00B so I have 8, 6 in front and 2 at back to soak up some damage. The main worry I had was the big unit of Saurus, but having thought about it, 28+2 heroes looks visually awesome I think you'd have to agree? Cheers for the input, hope I explained the points you brought up well enough
