I have been toying with this list: Saurus Scar vet with bboc and maiming shield (GEN) Skink chief on Terradon with shield of the mirrored pool (for mage hunting) Skink priest lvl 2 on EOTG with power stone and plaque of topek Skink priest lvl2 with diadem of power and blood statuette (I liked the momentary surprise that I got from that last week) Terradons x 3 (chief goes here) chameleons x 5 (I include these because I like the hide and shoot idea) Cavalry x 5 Skink Skirmishers x 16 (to screen saurus) Saurus warriors x 17 (with full command)-Scar vet with this unit This list comes in just under 1500. CC welcomed.
Looks like quite a good list. I have only a few suggestions on what you might want to do to tweak your list. 1) Drop your Chameleons (IMHO). They are a somewhat weak unit in small numbers, especially for their price. The points you gain from there could be spent into buying four more skinks and having two units of ten. 2) Two regular size units are more advantageous than one large unit. Remember that your skirmishers are throw away units with some nice shooting and take down ability w/ their poison and multi shot blow guns. 3) This is more for points conservation than anything. But I'd consider dropping your Skink Chief on Terradon. True he adds some nice power to your Terradon force but he's pretty squishy and isn't nessisarily great by himself and your terradons by themselves are awesome enough. You could use the points from him to buy more Saurus and give you more infantry blocks. Having a good amount of infantry in smaller games is paramount. Often times players are used to playing larger games and so want to beef up their infantry blocks instead of focusing on getting a decent amount of units on the field. While the souped up blocks are great they can be overwelmed. I suggest trying to work in at least a unit of 10 Saurus if nothing else. 4) Spears on your Saurus, never leave home without spears!
