So.. I will soon fighting a friend of mine who plays Orcs & Goblins. Since we both are fairly new to 8th edition rules, we will only be playing a 1500 pt game. I have thought of the following list: Lord: Slann (life) w. 2 disc (Rumination, mystery) and BSB Core: 2 x 20 SW w. Hw+S, musican and banner Special: 2 x 6 Chameleon Skinks 20 x TG w. full command Rare: 2 x 1 Salamanders w. extra meatbones My Plan is to buff up the weaknesses of the heavy Lizardmen fighters with lights WS and I. Secondly, I am afraid he will come up with lots and lots of orcs or gob's therefore my army is so CC dependant. I got the chameleons for killing warmachines and sallies for the massive units. Should I reduce chameleon units to 2 x 5 and the TG to 14, in return for a skink priest? Hope you can help me with your experiences on this kind of enemy
against orcs and goblins i like lore of death, the spell for -3 leadership should ruin anything of thiers and the purple sun floating around at a hoarde army can be scary. You have salamanders, thats a good thing. the temple guard to e honest are not needed that badly. you could trade them in for somthing more valuable. orcs generally have good toughness and bad armour, perfect for poion attacks, think of the giant. put 30 skink shots on it you'll average 10 wounds on poison attacks alone thats overkill and costs you very little.
Thank you for replying.. I have now been remodifying my army, so it would get those poison attacks, please comment Slann (shadow or death) *Rumination *Mystery Skink Chief on Ancient Steg *Spear *Light Armour *Shield 3 x 10 Skink Skirmishers *Javelins 25 x Saurus Warriors *Musican *Banner 2 x 5 Chameleon Skinks 2 x 1 Salamanders *Extra Handler This leaves me with 24 points to magic items for the Slann. Since it's a friendlygame, I dont think my friend would mind me exeed the 1500 point limitation by 1 point. What magic items should I go for? If I choose lore of death, I could buy Bane Head to snipe his general and his other chars. With shadow.. My Slann would be able to fly around (Steed of Shadows) never allowing my opponent to engage my mage. At the same time I would have a easier time buffing and debuffing units onboard? What say you?
