Hey all, im in the process of trading my O&G army for Lizardmen, but in my rush to get my hands on some lizards I went out today and bought a battalion, the new saurus Old Blood model, the army book and ordered two Hordes Ironback Spitters to use as my stegadons: http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/minions/warbeasts/ironback-spitter . now I would like to come up with a solid 1500pt list for an upcoming tournament at the end of the month. So here is what i currenty have atm for a list: - 10x temple guard FC (champion with Blood Statuette) (should I give these guys a banner?) - 20x Saurus Warriors FC with Hand weapons and Shields (Should I give these guys spears?) - 12x Skink Skirmishers Blowpipes and handweapons - And my OldBlood, still working on him. so i figure once my OldBlood is kitted out ill have about 700-650pts left to spend. I would like to know what i should be adding to be competitive. Its also worth noting my main opponent outside of tournaments will be a HE player with heavy magic and lots of infantry; lots of Sword masters, Pheonix Guard and a horde of spears are his mainstays, but he often brings 2 bolt throwers and he just bought a crapton of white lions. so any advice to help me counter his army would be appreciaated. thanks in advance: Truthsayer
Re: Freshly Spawned Lizard Player Against Helves you will need some solid magic if you don't want to be beaten all over the board. Their elite troops will eat your elite troops for breakfast in a one-on-one fight. You only need to watch your opponent roll 30 re-rollable 3+ to hit and 2+ to wounds once to appreciate that fact! If I were you, I'd ask your opponent to consider 1600pt battles as that extra 100pts helps to get a slann and kit him out a bit. You're already planning TG (though you might want to increase the number) so it's a worthwhile investment. Choose the Lore of Light and you can quickly turn the tables around! Salamanders are fun to use and a well placed flame template can murder a lot of elves, fast. More skirmishers are always a good idea, they can make their points back fast and, with a bit of luck on your side, can take down the biggest, baddest monsters in the warhammer universe. Chameleon skinks are great and a unit of 5 or 6 can really help out, especially in low point games. I love your idea of using the Ironback Spitter as a stegadon. How are you going to put a howdah on there? Are you thinking giant bow or blowpipes?
ok, so i finished my Old Blood, hes to run with my Saurus block and I built him for damage: Saurus Old Blood: Light Armour, Sword of Bloodshed, The Maiming Shield, Luckstone (took the build from N810 because its boss, hope he doesn't mind) what would other Lizard generals add to this army?
Well as far as I can see it looks good. I would add some chameleon skinks and salamanders to get a litle more shooty to kill of some enemies before CC.
