Hiya So, I'm attending my first ever tournament in a few months and decided after many hobby wobbles to grab the Lizards. And have come up with the following list:- ScarVet - General - CO, GW, LA, Dragonhelm, Dawnstone Skink Priest - Lvl 2 Beasts, Dispel Scroll Skink Priest - Lvl 2 Heavens 35 x Saurs Warriors - Mus, Std 10 x Skink Cohort 10 x Skink Cohort 9 x Cold One Riders - Std, Mus 3 x Terradon Riders Ancient Steg 1500pts on the nose. I'm a little worried about the lack of BSB and a certain lack of chaff units. I'd appreciate some thoughts from those more experienced
Hey. I think you should either drop or take beast on your second wizard, but thats a personal thing so that is really up to you. 9 saurus cavalry is waaay too big a unit, take a single unit of 5 or two units of 5. The ancient stegadon could really use some sharp horns. A salamander would be nice. If you want to add a BSB your army could look like this: scar-vet, CO, LA, charmed shield, sword of battle/strength (a magic weapon allows you to deal with ethereals), dawnstone. scar-vet, CO, GW, armour of destiny. skink priest, level 2, scroll. 30 saurus warriors (spears optional), full command. 12 skinks in a cohort. 10 skinks in a cohort. 5 cold one cavalry, musician- 3 terradon riders. ancient stegadon, sharpened horns. salamander. Dont be too afraid not to bring a BSB, ld 8 cold blooded is still good. However since scar-vets and slaans are so good, there is really no reason not to take one.
I was originally planning on using the second priest with beasts, but I was a little worried about having enough magic dice to get the spells off, so changed it to heavens with it's inherently lower casting costs. Is having double beasts bad on magic dice use or am I over analysing it? I'm happy to leave the BSB out, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a giant mistake leaving it off. Unfortunately double ScarVet + Priest bumps the point cost over the 375 allotment for heroes.
