I think it is a solid list. I like that you are using the luck stone. I never have thought to put that on a priest (or chief even) that is on a Stegadon. I will keep that in mind for future use.
Nice list, but i would drop the 2 stalker upgrades, not worth the extra points IMO, other than that very nice indeed. Yours Aye Mixer

I've seen you say that before, I've been lurking a bit, but what's not to like about bs 5? I tend to have good luck with my stalkers, what would you suggest I spend with the extra 12 points?
So quick question on playing VC, I think the points limit is being raised to 2000, so I'm thinking of including either a Light Slaan at 400 points (rumination, mystery, cupped hands, plaque of prot) or a Life Slaan, which would you prefer? The d extra damage vs undead with light is nice, but I really like the idea of regrowth when running a steg, and dwellers on a ghouls would devastate his tarpits >
I would go Light all the way. I enjoy using light more than life. The extra d6 damage will come in handy as well.
if the points limit stays at 1600 pts, then your first list is illegal (too many hero points). i agree with the slann assessment. what i would recommend is squeezing in another sallie or 2 for a 2k battle. 2 x 2 groups can be simply devestating to big hordes (i.e. ghouls). that would let you take light without having to worry about the tar pits so much. plus, 3d6 attacks can do alot of damage in its own right
Yeah that's a good point...Maybe I will buff 'em up to 7. Yeah I think I would just take off his wizard level 2, and just be a little bit weaker in the magic area. Which I don't think will be too much of a problem as at that point level I will probably be facing one or at the utmost two mages. (and the ancient steg with eotg gives him add castng value I believe, although that doesn't mean as much in 8th ) Also, that's a pretty nice idea, Adding two stegs would really bolster the army, and the impact hits would be devestinting... Maybe I'll make another list, at 2000 points like that
