My friend and I are participating in a team tournament coming up on the 8th. We both get 1600 points and we must use the ally rules from the BRB. He is running DE and I am running Lizardmen. We are untrusted allys. IE. share dice, can't use each other for LD, etc. Below is the list I am running. I went with a skink priest and not a slann because if we have to split dice, I don't want to end up with a low dice count. Old blood -Mounted -Ogre blade -Dragon helm -Aura of Quatzle Scar Vet -BSB -Mounted -Dawnstone -Burning blade -dragonbane gem -LA + Shield Skink Priest -+1 magic level -Dispell Scroll SW x 25 + FC SW x 25 + FC Cameleon Skink X5 Cameleon Skink x5 Salamander x 2 Salamander x 1 My friend isn't taking any magic at all. But we are still required to evenly split our casting/despell dice. Any suggestions?
Take a slann. Even if you have to split dice, those dice will end up getting you more with a ruminating slann than a skink priest with adding a dice to each spell anyway. Though I'm not sure why you couldn't just get all the dice since he has no caster. If you do have to split the dice either way, convince your friend to bring a caster so those dice aren't wasted; it would be just plain silly for him not to (even if only to hold a dispel scroll). Other than that your list looks fine. Although if you are serious about this tournament, see if he can bring something that is a trusted ally to the LM (say HE). It doesn't make sense to me why you would bring an army that has a handicap due to army pairing choice.
I thought about you said and threw this together. Slann 2-disc (rumination, loremaster (light)) plaque of prot bsb Scar Vet Burning blade dawnstone dragonbane gem mounted (LA+Shield) SW x 25 +FC SW x 25 +FC Cameleon x6 Cameleon x6 Salamander x2 Salamander x2
