Hey all, This is kind of short notice but I will be playing against my Dark Elf friend on Wednesday, so I'd like your opinions on my list. This is essentially all of my models so I can't add sallies or whatever but I can adjust composition and heroes. LORDS --Old Blood: CO, GW, Glittering Scales, Talisman of Preservation HEROES --Scar Vet: BSB, GW, And --Priest: lvl 2, scroll, beasts --Priest: lvl 2, cube, heavens CORE --Saurs: 19 hw, full command --Skirmishers: 12 J&S --Skirmishers: 11 J&S SPECIAL --Chamos: 6 --Chamos: 6 --TG: 10, musician and standard --COC: 6, spears, musician and standard OB in COC, SV in saurs block, Priests in skirmishers. I can drop TG for 10 more saurs. The plan was to pester/kill with all skinks until saurs block can engage and have the TG or COC flank, while whichever is not flanking attack whatever is left.
Well if it's all of you're models... (Buy many Salamanders) It seem ok'ish, just be sure to soften up the elves with skink darts before the Saurus blocks charge, and do your best to get your CoC in on a flank charge, they will fare a lot better, and be sure to buff your Saurus blocks with magic.
Not a lot to mention, just great weapons, and dispels. fairly typical budget builds. I suppose you could splurge on a magic weapon for the old blood, since he has better initiative than most of our army. (dueling blades or the ASF blade would be good against elves)
I ended up dropping the TG, adding more suars, and adding more to the other troops. I also added sword of swift slaying to the Old blood. I'm glad I did. the extra models allowed me to kill his Executioner/Cauldron of Blood combo (after shooting at it for 2 turns, then whittling it away), as well as get my Old Blood into his horde of Crossbowmen (Which he ended up killing all of my CoR and 1 wound on old blood, before being slowly beaten down by the lone old blood). All in all a good game. Thanks for the help!
