Hi there, I'm a new lizardmen player, played 3 games til now and now I've got a chance to go and play with other players than my one friend (played against dwarfs til now). What I've heard there will be HE, DE, ogres, dwarfs, chaos dwarfs and prob other. It's friendly and prob trying out new army builds and stuff, so I'll also try different things. Any suggestions on improvements and army lists are very welcome. So here's two lists I've been thinking on: Army list 1: Oldblood 1 - Burning Blade of Chotec, Glittering Scales, Aura of Quetzl ,The Other Trickster's Shard (Saw this one on a thread and I'm very interested by this build) Oldblood 2 - Cold one, Venom of the fire frog 40x Saurus FC Skink Priest lvl 2 - Eotg,Plaque of Tepok (Could be without the Eotg, but then needs either the Cloak of feathers or a unit to hide in) 2 Salamanders - Extra skink herder 5 Saurus Cavalry - Standard bearer, War Banner Army list 2: Slann - Lore of Life, Focus of Mystery, Focused Rumination, BSB, Cupped Hands of the Old Ones Scar Veteran 1 - Great Weapon, Armour of Fortune, Venom of the Firefly Frog Scar Veteran 2 - Light Armour, Shield, Burning Blade of Chotec, Talisman of Endurance Skink Priest - Dispel Scroll 20 Saurus FC 2x 10 Skinks 20 Temple Guards with revered guardian - Ironcurse icon 8 Chameleon skinks 2 Salamander - Extra skink herder Any thoughts and improvements would be welcome. I'll post a list of what I have if needed.
I would be tempted to make old blood #2 a scarvet and get him some more gear. maybe try out the dualing blades, they have never let me down.
Making Oldblood2 a Scar-vet would make taking Eotg impossible, so it must go.. So instead of #2 Oldblood I'd take SV with cold one, fencer blade, that leaves me open for 549 points.. I was thinking of adding: Skink Priest 1 - 2nd lvl, Dispel scroll, Cloack of feathers Skink Priest 2 - 2nd lvl, Cube of darkness 2x10 skinks 6 chameleon skinks an extra salamander Sounds better or still needs some corrections? Comment your opinion Edit: These are additions to the army list 1, taking away Eotg and Oldblood 2, just to clarify.
I came up with a 3rd army list possible, wanted to test out the carnosaur and see what it's like. Army list 3: Saurus Oldblood Carnosaur, Fencer's Blades, Glittering Scales, Talisman of Endurance OR Carnosaur, Fencer's Blades, Charmed Shield, Talisman of Preservation, Ironcurse Icon 30x Saurus Warriors FC Skink Priest Aquatic, Level 2 Upgrade, Dispel Scroll, Cloak of Feathers Saurus Scar-Veteran Great Weapon, Armour of Fortune, Venom of the Firefly Frog Skink Priest Level 2 Upgrade, Plaque of Tepok, Blood Statuette of Spite 20x Skinks Javelin, Shield, Aquatic 2x Salamander hunting pack Extra Skink herder Stegadon 6x Chameleon Skinks Both Oldblood's cost the same, the difference is that while the first one has 2+ as and -1 to hit in CC, he doesn't have any ward, while the other has a 4+ ward, charmed shield to deflect possible cannonballs and addition of 6+ ward against warmachines, but it has "only" 3+ armor save. Which one do you prefer?
ive just noticed that all three of your lists appear to be under the 25% for core List 1 core choice 40 Saurus FC 470 means your 130 short List 2 Core Choice 20 Saurus FC 250 2 x 10 skinks (guessing at skirmishers given unit size) 140PTS means your 210pts short List 3 Core Choice 30 Saurus FC 360pts 20 Skinks (assuming to be cohort given unit size and im going to add a FC here just in case) 122 pts means your 118 pts short here too. before you add the bells and whistles your going to need to trim the lists and boost these core choices
At 1800 games 25% would be 450 points, so wouldn't the minimum amount of core be 450? If so, the list 1 and 3 are fine (470 points and 460). The 2nd list has some errors, thanks for noticing them. Have to correct that one. And correct if my statement about the core points are also wrong.
indeed i missed that one from another list and was looking at a large allotment. Army list 2 looks something very similar to what i run my temple guard are 17 strong because i run 7 wide 3 deep with the slann and i only run 1 scar vet till i hit 2000 points. i consider making the difference by making another squad of saurus although i like running in groups of 21 (7 wide 3 deep) to maximise attacks on the standard 5 wide units. For chameleons i would maybe drop 2. For us Saurus are pretty impressive for rank and file troops and you lists dont really make the most of this. I know people love life slann but for your list i think you might be better running a light slann
It's ok, I had a hard time to find any list at 1800 points, it seems to be less common than other point lists. The idea about switching life to light could work better, because there's one player with WoC, so light spells would do more damage. Thanks for the idea I'll try to see what I can come up with your other suggestions too.
